What’s the role
As a Tax Specialist (EU), you will support and deliver activities within the Manage Direct Tax team for the Europe region. You will be primarily responsible for supporting tax reporting and filing for various legal entities in Germany and the Netherlands. The role provides valuable exposure to direct tax compliance, group reporting, and stakeholder management.
What you’ll be doing
- Execute direct tax provisions on a quarterly and annual basis, including tax true-ups and deferred tax provisions.
- Prepare tax computations and tax returns and ensure timely filing with revenue and statutory authorities.
- Ensure strong coordination across business functions and Finance Operations teams.
- Manage workloads, multiple demands, and competing priorities while maintaining high-quality and accurate data.
- Proactively manage relationships with stakeholders.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to reduce complexity and promote best practices.
- Keep abreast of business developments and business performance drivers.
- Support the migration and standardization of direct tax processes across EU countries.
- Prepare tax notes and disclosures for statutory financial statements and support tax assessments, audit queries, and related compliance requirements.
- Work closely with Tax, Legal, Controllers, and external statutory auditors to support tax reporting, tax payments, and statutory filing requirements.
What you bring
- Recognized professional qualification with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience in Direct Tax processes.
- Knowledge and experience in handling corporate taxation.
- Strong financial reporting experience.
- Strong customer focus and delivery skills.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience interfacing with senior finance stakeholders.
- Demonstrate collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of ERP systems, particularly SAP and S/4 HANA.
- Excellent MS Office skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong Excel skills; familiarity with Power BI or Tableau.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, Python, and data modelling concepts.
- Understanding of data structures, databases, and ETL processes.
