The Team

The Talent team sits within the wider Talent and Reward function in the People and Culture pillar and plays a key role in developing and delivering talent initiatives across the EMEAPAC region. Following the firm's recent acquisition, the team continues to support an expanding and evolving workforce, helping to drive employee engagement, performance and career development.

The EMEAPAC Talent team comprises the Director of Talent and Reward – EMEAPAC, Head of Talent EMEA, Talent Manager and Talent Advisor. This role reports directly to the Talent Manager and works closely with colleagues across HR, Learning & Development and People and Culture, as well as our Talent colleagues in  EMEA and Australia, to deliver consistent and impactful talent programmes across the region.

The Talent Advisor will support the delivery of a best-in-class talent experience for employees at all levels, contributing to a range of initiatives focused on talent development, performance, career growth and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, delivery and continuous improvement of Talent, Performance and Growth processes across EMEAPAC, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategy and future capability needs. 
  • Assist with the rollout and ongoing administration of Workday-based talent processes, including goal setting, feedback, Career Conversations, competency assessments, succession planning and year-end performance activities. 
  • Support the development and maintenance of competency frameworks, career stage expectations and associated guidance, helping colleagues and managers understand development and progression pathways. 
  • Coordinate communications and supporting materials for career development initiatives, including Special Counsel and partnership pathway processes, promotion activity and career-focused programmes. 
  • Assist with annual talent, performance, salary review and reward communications, ensuring stakeholders receive clear, timely and consistent guidance. 
  • Develop and maintain communications, training materials, FAQs, Athena content, presentations and stakeholder briefings to support talent initiatives and change activity. 
  • Work collaboratively with HR, Business Partners, Reward, Learning & Development, HRIS, IT Training, Communications and other stakeholders to deliver Talent Development priorities. 
  • Contribute to talent mapping, succession planning, reporting and insight activity, using data and feedback to identify trends and improve talent processes. 
  • Support the collection, analysis and distribution of colleague engagement survey data and insights to inform action planning and decision-making. 
  • Project manage and coordinate Talent Development workstreams, tracking actions, supporting stakeholders and delivering key activities throughout the annual talent cycle. 
  • Support the planning and delivery of development initiatives, events and campaigns, including Career Focus Week, October Feedback Week. 
  • Organise and coordinate Celebrating Success events, managing communications, logistics, stakeholder engagement and event delivery across London and Newcastle. 
  • Provide general support to the Talent team, helping to drive successful delivery of strategic talent priorities 

Skills and Experience Required

  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable, but a genuine passion for talent management in its broadest sense is equally important.
  • Ability to work under pressure to support the Head of Talent to deliver a ‘best in class’ offering to the business
  • Ability to engage and gain credibility with all levels of employee across the business, as well as partners.
  • A real appetite for self-improvement, and seizing opportunities for progression whenever they are available.
  • Excellent and demonstrable project management skills.
  • Experience of using a HRIS is desirable e.g. SAP, Workday etc.
  • Ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • A positive and proactive attitude.
  • Resilience with the confidence to deliver difficult messages.
  • An excellent team player.
  • Strong MS office skills are essential in particular reference to Word, Excel and Outlook.
