Program Summary

The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM) sustains the Army’s mission to develop, acquire, field, and sustain ground combat, tactical, and support systems throughout their lifecycle. The program focuses on ensuring operational readiness, reliability, and safety of automotive and ground support equipment critical to Army operations.

Under this contract, personnel provide maintenance, repair, overhaul, and sustainment support in accordance with Army technical manuals, safety standards, and performance requirements.

Job Summary

The Supply Technician provides technical and administrative support for supply operations in support of TACOM maintenance and logistics activities. The role is responsible for managing inventory, tracking materials, coordinating supply transactions, and ensuring accurate accountability of government property.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Investigates discrepancies between ASRS stock records, LMP information and errors disclosed by physical inventories, warehouse denials, location changes, erroneous quantities received or shipped, condition code changes, assembly or disassembly of items, mislabeling, etc.
• Validates and corrects inventory differences between LMP record and physical counts.
• Receives documentation and secures the necessary detailed data on the items in question by reviewing applicable Army automated or manual records.
• Enters count results for all cycle counts.
• Works closely with inventory team members and other interested personnel in resolving discrepancies and reporting adjustments to the depot Accountable Property Officer (APO) or Inventory Management Specialist.
• Activates material to be cycled daily.
• Collects data for the preparation of Reports of Survey, and Inventory Adjustment Reports.
• Receives correspondence on discrepancies, investigates and provides results in answer to correspondence; prepares correspondence, records and reports, relative to work performed.
• Performs root cause analysis.
• Maintains telephone, email, and correspondence contacts with inventory control points to resolve discrepancies.
• Encounters, and expedites the flow of documents and information as required.
• Studies supply regulations and directives issued by local and higher authorities and works closely with Inventory Management Specialist in developing procedures to put these directives into effect within the division, and to coordinate them with other organizations closely involved with stock control activities.
• Validates inventory difference in warehouse management (WM).
• Performs inventory adjustment in (WM).
• Initiates recount inventory. Explains new or revised procedures and work methods to Automatic Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) employees and reviews the work to see if procedures and methods are being followed and are adequate to ensure timely accomplishment of work; if not, notifies Inventory Management Specialist of the need for revision or training. Instructs and trains new employees.
• Contacts Quality Assurance (QA) in the event an item selected for shipment has been suspended, and to have the item placed in condition for transport.
• Suggests substitutions available to the APO. Reviews records to ensure that Priority of Issue items are given preference for shipment.
• Initiates necessary action in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures directed by higher authority to ensure proper action is taken.
• Receives telephone orders from Item Managers; follows up to verify that necessary LMP transactions are completed to process such shipments.
• Expedites all high priority requisitions and assures processing time is not exceeded.
• Prepares or coordinates the preparation of all reports to provide local operating officials and higher authorities with a consistently accurate picture of locations in use and available stocks on hand, etc.; furnishes required information to resolve any discrepancies.
• Ensures Stock Records accuracy, and reports discrepancies to appropriate person(s).
• Coordinates with and assists inventory personnel in the taking of inventories, location surveys, etc.
• Performs other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; supplemental technical or vocational training preferred
• Typically 3-5 years of experience in supply, logistics, inventory management, or related field
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct the operation and evaluation of a safety and occupation health program.
• Working knowledge of inventory control procedures and supply chain operations
• Experience with automated supply or maintenance management systems (e.g., GCSS-Army or equivalent)
• Ability to read and interpret supply documents, technical instructions, and regulatory guidance
• Strong organizational and data management skills with attention to detail
• Ability to perform work in physically demanding environments
• Ability to obtain or maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (as required)
• U.S. citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting DoD, Army, or TACOM programs
• Associate degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Familiarity with Army supply regulations, property accountability, and maintenance support processes
• Experience with GCSS-Army or similar military logistics systems
• Knowledge of material handling, storage procedures, and hazardous material requirements
• Experience supporting government audits, inspections, and compliance programs
• Prior government contracting experience

Additional Information

This position will be a part of a physical work environment that requires standing, walking, and lifting. There is potential exposure to machinery, tools, fuels, oils, and outdoor conditions. Employees may also be required to work shifts, overtime, or weekend support based on mission needs.
