Torch Technologies is seeking a dedicated System Administrator to join our Objective Simulation Framework (OSF) Infrastructure team. In this role, you will provide critical technical expertise for the Modeling & Simulation (M&S) integration of real-time Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) architectures. Your work will directly secure and enable Missile Defense Agency (MDA) ground tests, flight tests, and other advanced HWIL events

As a System Administrator your duties will include the following but not limited to:

  • Support the operation and maintenance of Linux-based computer systems under the guidance of senior system and network administrators.

  • Assist with administration of Cisco network devices, including basic configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting through the Cisco IOS command-line interface.

  • Provide initial troubleshooting for network connectivity, end-user access, computer hardware, servers, and common software issues.

  • Support day-to-day system administration for Modeling and Simulation (M&S) systems, including routine maintenance, account administration, software installation, and system health checks.

  • Assist with building, configuring, deploying, and troubleshooting hardware, software, applications, and infrastructure upgrades.

  • Monitor systems and network tools, document observed issues, and provide timely status updates to the team.

  • Respond to technical support requests and assist with issue resolution in accordance with established procedures.

  • Maintain accurate system, network, configuration, and troubleshooting documentation.

  • Follow established IT architecture, processes, cybersecurity requirements, configuration-management practices, and technical standards across modeling and simulation (M&S) environments.

  • Demonstrate experience analyzing cybersecurity risks through hands-on academic lab work, cybersecurity internships, or similar practical experience.

  • Coordinate with government personnel, contractors, program teams, and senior technical staff to support mission requirements.

  • Collect technical data and prepare reports, logs, and other documentation as directed.

  • Provide on-site operational support five days per week for development and operational assets.

  • Perform other assigned IT duties in support of mission success.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Associate Degree

  • Security+ certification.

  • Requires a basic understanding of Unix and/or NT based operating systems.

  • Interim clearance is required to be considered for this position.

  • Candidates must comply with the experience, training, and certification requirements to satisfy DoD 8140 (DoD 8570.01) Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II and Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level II Certification upon employment (e.g., Security + CE or higher)

  • Knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems.

  • Knowledge of DoW security policies and procedures.

  • Understanding of Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), and DoW information assurance tools, including the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) for vulnerability scanning, network configuration assessments, and network discovery; as well as Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and the Evaluate-STIG Validation Tool for validating system compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Linux certification e.g., Linux+, LPIC, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE).

  • Previous experience with the Missile Defense Agency elements, components, or equivalent system of system environments.
