Job Title

System Architect — OneBlade

Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to shape the future of Philips OneBlade: a globally recognized, consumer-focused grooming proposition at the intersection of product innovation, performance, and simplicity.

As System Architect, you will define the end-to-end technical direction for OneBlade product families. You will connect consumer needs, business strategy, product performance, technology choices, and implementation across hardware, software, connectivity, accessories, and digital experiences. You will help ensure that OneBlade continues to deliver distinctive consumer value while enabling scalable, modular, and future-ready solutions.

You are responsible for

  • Defining and communicating a shared system and technical architecture vision across OneBlade product families, platforms, and development projects, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose, scalable, and aligned with the long-term business strategy.

  • Translating long-term business, consumer, and category strategies into consumer-benefit-driven technical propositions, together with the Program Manager, Category Lead, R&D teams, and other key stakeholders.

  • Creating and maintaining the OneBlade reference architecture, including clear building blocks, system options, interfaces, design principles, technology choices, and architectural roadmaps.

  • Evaluating system scenarios and trade-offs across consumer performance, cost, quality, reliability, sustainability, time to market, manufacturability, and intellectual property—and selecting the architecture that best supports the business case.

  • Driving modularity, reuse, platform harmonization, and technology standardization across OneBlade product families, while protecting the distinctive performance and user experience of the proposition.

  • Leading end-to-end architectural integration across relevant domains, including shaving and trimming performance, mechanical design, electronics, firmware, power management, charging, accessories, packaging, manufacturing, quality, and—where relevant—connectivity and digital services.

  • Identifying critical technical risks, dependencies, and design decisions early; establishing appropriate architecture control points; and resolving key technical impediments throughout development.

  • Planning and developing the Architectural Runway to support future OneBlade features, capabilities, product variants, and platform evolution.

  • Contributing to the Grooming & Beauty Reference Architecture and Technology Roadmap, while leveraging relevant technologies, standards, and building blocks across Philips Personal Health.

  • Ensuring that the defined architecture is understood, accepted, and implemented consistently by development teams and external partners.

You are a part of

The Grooming & Beauty Architecture team within Philips Personal Health. The team enables the end-to-end development of differentiated consumer products and solutions across grooming categories.

For OneBlade, you will work closely with global category, innovation, R&D, design, quality, operations, procurement, and market teams. You will be a central technical partner in translating a strong consumer proposition into robust, manufacturable, and successful products at global scale.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • A Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline, with 5+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering, product development, or system architecture within a technology-driven consumer-product environment.

  • Demonstrated experience defining and delivering end-to-end architectures for complex physical products, preferably involving mechatronics, electronics, software, and/or connected product capabilities.

  • Strong understanding of system-level trade-offs across consumer performance, cost, quality, reliability, manufacturability, sustainability, and time to market.

  • Experience working with modular platforms, product families, reuse strategies, and technology roadmaps.

  • Proven ability to lead and influence multidisciplinary development teams and senior stakeholders in a global, multi-location organization.

  • Ability to connect consumer insights and business objectives to concrete technical choices and system requirements.

  • Strong analytical, structured problem-solving, and decision-making skills, including the ability to operate effectively amid uncertainty.

  • Experience navigating the differences and tensions between development approaches, technology maturity, and short-term delivery needs versus long-term platform direction.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor complex technical topics to different audiences.

  • A collaborative, curious, and pragmatic mindset. You enjoy being the connecting point across disciplines and turning diverse inputs into a clear technical direction.
