Job Description

Job Duties

• Controls department specific inventory and anticipates outdated inventory
• Responds to materials management concerns related to back orders
• Prepares justification for variances based on general ledger
• Investigates consignment opportunities and volume discounts 
• Reviews/revises charge system as needed
• Establishes and maintains professional and ethical relationships with vendors
• Demonstrates working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS coding
• Maintains KanBan supply system
• Initiates and procures/maintains adequate supply volume
• Controls preparation and taking of annual physical inventory
• Prepares supplies and stock for return to vendors for credit
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.

Department Specific Duties

OR

• Maintains ordering, tracking and billing for the Surgical Tissue Bank
• Assists with room turnover
• Assists at the front desk, answering phones and scheduling

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Ability to work with various software applications and spreadsheet databases
• Problem solving, decision-making skills

Professional Experience

• 2 years in health care setting preferred

Education

• High School Diploma required
• Associate Degree in Applied Science preferred
