The Supervisor - Manufacturing Operations is responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations and ensuring performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This position leads, coaches, and develops a team of approximately 10–20 manufacturing operators while supporting operational excellence within a GMP-regulated environment.

The Supervisor promotes a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement and applies Lean/PPI methodologies to improve productivity, quality, workflow, and customer satisfaction.

Location: Middletown, VA.

Shift Requirement: This is a 2nd shift position, with scheduled hours of 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM. Candidates must be able and willing to consistently work this schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of manufacturing operators to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Oversee daily manufacturing activities, including production planning, scheduling, staffing, workflow, and execution.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations comply with applicable GMP requirements, quality systems, SOPs, and regulatory standards.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure employees follow established environmental, health, and safety requirements.
  • Monitor production performance and use operational data and metrics to identify trends, address gaps, and drive improvements.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/PPI, standard work, 5S, and related methodologies.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, product quality, and manufacturing processes.
  • Lead or support manufacturing investigations, CAPAs, change controls, and other quality-system activities.
  • Ensure employees are appropriately trained and qualified to perform assigned responsibilities.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and development to team members.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of standardized manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, EHS, and other functions to resolve operational issues and achieve business objectives.
  • Build effective cross-functional relationships and consensus to support manufacturing priorities and continuous improvement.
  • Utilize ERP systems and other business tools to support production planning, execution, reporting, and performance management.
  • Maintain flexibility to support varying shifts, schedules, and manufacturing requirements as business needs dictate.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of relevant manufacturing operations experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a leadership or people-management role.
  • Experience working in a GMP, ISO, or other regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop effective manufacturing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
  • Ability to analyze operational data and performance metrics and translate findings into actionable improvements.
  • Working knowledge of quality systems, SOPs, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience with investigations, CAPAs, and change-control processes.
  • Experience implementing standard work and 5S practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functions and build consensus.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.           

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Virginia is $68,200.00–$102,250.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
