Provides overall leadership and operational oversight of EEG and Sleep Services across inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and laboratory settings. Responsible for the daily management of clinical operations, staffing, quality assurance, patient experience, regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, and financial performance. Oversees the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, competency validation, performance management, coaching, and staff development. Collaborates with physicians, organizational leadership, and Human Resources to promote high-quality, patient-centered care, operational excellence, and program growth.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. One of the following:

- Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT); or

- Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. EEG T.) certification through ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation.

2. Obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire date.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Three (3) years of experience as a Sleep Technologist and/or Neurodiagnostic (EEG) Technologist.

1. One (1) year of supervisory, lead, charge, or management experience in a healthcare setting.

Operational Leadership

1. Oversees daily operations of EEG and Sleep Services across inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, and laboratory settings. Coordinates staffing, scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation to ensure efficient patient access, throughput, and service delivery.

2. Monitors productivity, volumes, turnaround times, and key performance indicators; implements process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.

3. Ensures proper functionality, maintenance, calibration, and utilization of equipment, software, and supplies. Supports implementation of new technologies, workflows, and best practices to advance program growth and operational effectiveness.

4. Acts as departmental operational resource and serves in the absence of departmental leadership as assigned.

Personnel Management

5. Supervises EEG technologists, sleep technologists, and support staff, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and patient-centered culture.

6. Leads workforce planning, recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention activities in partnership with Human Resources.

7. Provides orientation, training, competency validation, and ongoing professional development opportunities for staff.

8. Establishes performance expectations, conducts performance evaluations, and provides routine coaching and feedback.

9. Addresses employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, corrective action, and performance improvement planning in collaboration with Human Resources.

10. Supports employee engagement, retention, succession planning, and career development initiatives.

11. Ensures staff maintain required certifications, licensure, competencies, and continuing education requirements.

Clinical Quality and Patient Care

12. Promotes safe, high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental, organizational, and professional standards.

13. Oversees quality assurance and performance improvement activities related to EEG and sleep studies, documentation, and patient care processes.

14. Ensures studies are performed, documented, scored, and prepared for physician interpretation in accordance with current professional standards and departmental procedures.

15. Monitors study quality, technical performance, and documentation compliance while providing coaching and education as needed.

16. Serves as a clinical resource and educator to staff regarding neurodiagnostic and sleep medicine standards, procedures, and best practices.

17. Addresses patient concerns, complaints, and service recovery opportunities, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.

18. Promotes a culture of patient safety and continuous quality improvement.

Regulatory, Accreditation, and Compliance

19. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, organizational, and professional standards.

20. Maintains departmental readiness for accreditation reviews, inspections, and audits, including standards established by organizations such as AASM, ACNS, ABRET, The Joint Commission, and other applicable regulatory bodies.

21. Develops, reviews, updates, and implements departmental policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.

22. Ensures compliance with documentation, billing, charge capture, and electronic medical record requirements.

Financial and Administrative Management

23. Assists with development and management of departmental budgets and monitors expenditures to support fiscal responsibility.

24. Reviews financial performance, productivity metrics, and operational reports and implements corrective actions as needed.

25. Oversees supply management, equipment planning, and resource utilization.

26. Maintains departmental records, reports, schedules, and performance dashboards.

27. Participates in strategic planning, business development, and service expansion initiatives.

Collaboration and Program Development

28. Collaborates with physicians, advanced practice providers, nursing, ancillary departments, and organizational leadership to improve clinical protocols and workflows.

29.  Supports service line growth, outreach initiatives, and program development opportunities.

30. Participates in committees, projects, and organizational initiatives related to neurodiagnostic and sleep services.

21. Serves as liaison between staff, providers, leadership, and external stakeholders.

5. Supervises and provides oversight to staff performing sleep studies and other related clinical functions, ensuring adherence to policy and procedure guidelines across the Sleep Evaluation Center, bedside, and critical care settings
