JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE:  SUN BED ATTENDANT

DEPARTMENT: ACTIVITIES

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Renting out sun beds to the owners and guests of the Marriott’s Marbella Beach resort, as well as to non-residents, whilst ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of the area.

This, in order to meet and exceed Owners and Guests expectation and to provide an outstanding Vacations Experience with in their Holiday Ownership

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: Activities Manager / Supervisor

Supervises: N/A

Interfaces: Guests, Activities Assistants, and Lifeguards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 Responsible for the complete set up of the sun bed zone, consisting in putting all the material needed.

 Daily preparation for rental, ensuring proper stock of all needed materials, tools and supplies.

 Ensuring zone is clean and tidy. Regularly raking of the sand and emptying bins.

 Responsible for cleanliness of the sun beds (incl. couchons) and tables.

 Assisting in adding a vacation experience for guests, by showing great hospitality skills, always being helpful, friendly and attentive.

 Responsible for the ticket sales, ensuring correct ticket handling by charging correct prizes to owners, guests, visitors and associates.

 Responsible for a correct cashier handling, always ensuring to safe guard the float, as well as doing a correct cashier hand over. Report any discrepancies to Manager or Manager on Duty directly.

 Responsible for the security of the beach zone in front of Marriott’s Marbella Beach Resort. In case of emergencies contacting lifeguards and Manager on Duty directly.

 Assisting in supervising control of the access from the beach to the resort.

 Responsible for daily correct closure of the sun bed zone, assuring all materials is secured and safely stored away.

 Upon daily closing time, responsible for leaving a clean, tidy area.

 Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

§ Fluent in Spanish. Medium understanding of English.

§ Good physical health.

 Be punctual and wear the nametag and uniform at all times during working hours.

 Perform all tasks in a timely manner ensuring all deadlines are met.

 Perform other related tasks as assigned by management.

 Comply with MVCI and Marriott International polices and procedures.

 Be proactive and have a flexible approach to work, meeting the needs of the team and the business at all times.

 Maintain an attitude and commitment to provide excellent service to all customers and associates. Respond sensitively to the needs and feelings of others, regardless of status or position; accept interpersonal differences and maintain a constructive rapport with all associates and customers.

 Maintain a working knowledge of all Marriott product lines.

 Work with all MVCI colleagues as a team, supporting the needs within that team and those of the business at all times.

 During high Season (June, July, August and September) , you will provide services either as assistant pool waiter or "Sunbed attendant", which are in the same wage group in the Collective Agreement Hospitality Malaga (GROUP V) performing pool and beach upselling and service.
