As a Subcontracts Intern, you have the opportunity to assist with multiple levels of procurement to support our Global Procurement and Supply Chain (GPSC) teams within the corporation.
*This position has a Spring/Summer 2027 start date.
YOUR IMPACT:
These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.
- Support subcontract administrators with negotiations, supplier selection, pricing, forecasts, and performance management, including quarterly scorecard reviews and corrective actions.
- Learn how service pricing (labor rates, NRE, milestone payments) connects to project budgets, scope tasks, and broader financial decisions.
- Take ownership of certain service suppliers and actively manage their pricing and scope with mentorship.
- Visit suppliers to understand their technical capabilities, capacity, quality systems, certifications, and potential constraints.
- Support subcontract administrators in ensuring appropriate compliance documentation is on file.
- Work with engineering, program management and other cross functional teams to understand service requirements, deliverables, and how subcontracted work integrates into product development timelines.
- Help coordinate scope changes, Statement of Work (SOW) amendments, and technical requirement updates.
- Support the subcontract administrator in supplier communications regarding schedule changes, milestone deliverables, technical reviews, and project updates.
- Identify and implement AI and digital tools that can improve purchasing-team efficiency.
- Administer RFQs by sending technical packages and SOWs to suppliers, collecting quotations, and comparing pricing, labor rates, lead times, and terms.
- Learn how to issue purchase orders and subcontracts for services, ensuring accuracy in pricing, scope, and terms. Review and validate supplier invoices against contracted rates and milestone deliverables. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to confirm work completion and deliverable acceptance prior to payment approval, and partner with Accounts Payable and Finance to resolve any discrepancies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Student working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, Economics, Logistics, or related field.
- Graduation date of December 2027 or later.
- Willing to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, WI for the Summer of 2027 (relocation assistance provided for those with a permanent address of greater than 50 miles from Oshkosh, WI).
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
- GPA of 3.0 or greater.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working independently and efficiently.
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Pay Range:
$18.00 - $37.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
