STV is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to join our Buildings team. This position will support the design and analysis of buildings, transit stations, retaining walls, and other structures. The role will provide opportunities to gain hands-on experience in structural engineering, develop technical skills, and work alongside experienced engineers on a variety of challenging projects.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with structural design, analysis, and engineering calculations for buildings and other structures.
• Support the development of structural drawings and plans using Revit, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation.
• Assist with the design and analysis of steel, concrete, and other structural systems.
• Support the preparation of design-related reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Assist with reviewing structural plans, specifications, shop drawings, and other construction submittals.
• Support the analysis and evaluation of existing structures.
• Assist with reviewing contract plans for conformance with established design criteria.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, architects, and other team members.
• Perform other tasks as assigned to support project goals and team objectives.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field.
• Coursework in structural analysis, steel design, concrete design, or related structural engineering topics.

• Strong interest in structural engineering and willingness to learn.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous internship or co-op experience in structural engineering.
• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or structural analysis software.
• Familiarity with structural design principles and applicable engineering standards and codes.
