Structural responsibilities will include acting as an owner-side technical resource; reviewing plans, specifications, and calculations prepared by outside structural consultants; performing in-house analysis and design for campus remodeling and renovation projects; and preparing, signing, and sealing engineering documents within the Structural/Civil Engineer’s responsible charge and areas of competence.

Civil responsibilities include planning and designing campus site and utility improvements; preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates, and bid documents; managing work orders and projects through design, construction, and closeout; reviewing consultant prepared construction documents; and coordinating consultants, contractors, campus stakeholders, and public agencies. • Support structural consultant selection and scope development, peer reviews, existing-condition assessments, renovation planning, and evaluation of unforeseen field conditions.

In-House Structural Engineering Design

  • Manage assigned work orders and projects from planning and design through construction and closeout, keeping scope, schedule, budget, and stakeholder communication on track.
  • Coordinate with campus clients, Physical Facilities teams, architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and public agencies. Procure consulting services, define scopes and deliverables, review proposals and invoices, and monitor consultant performance.
