The Opportunity

As a dedicated Strategy Principal, you will utilize expertise, industry experience, analysis and innovation to design and deliver strategic engagement plans to internal clients. Leverage analytics, execute work plans, deliver final outcomes, recommendations, and action plans for the client. Effectively collaborate with key stakeholders, to include senior level executives, to maximize strategic engagement.

What you'll do:

• Works directly with senior level executives to define the business problem and structure the strategic engagement plan.
• Leads cross-functional, matrixed teams to solve highly complex and high value business problems.
• Provides thought leadership that directly shapes the analysis, design and implementation of business performance approaches, developing tailor-made solutions, while working closely with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results.
• Responsible for the day-to-day execution of one or more strategy engagements and the quality of all end products.
• Responsible for developing more junior team members assigned to support strategy engagements.
• Proactively communicates high quality updates to executives and other key stakeholders. Collaborates with key stakeholders and LOB leaders to create written and verbal communications to executives that provide clear guidance on strategy timeline, owners required investments, and expected results.
• Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you have:

• Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience.
• 10 years of strategy consulting experience to include 6 years of experience leading strategy engagements.
• Deep expertise in industries such as financial services and high-technology.
• Ability to identify strategic needs and lead all aspects of projects with sound business recommendations and alignment with key business partners.
• Demonstrated experience influencing business decisions.
• Mastery of Technical Consulting Skills: Hypothesis-driven problem solving; Primary Market research (e.g.interviews); Secondary Market research (e.g.desk research); Data analysis (e.g.what-if, sensitivity, etc.); Synthesis (e.g.so what?); Pyramid Principle / Story Telling; Written Communications; Visual display of quantitative information; PowerPoint / Excel; Presentation skills; Meeting Leadership; Verbal Communications; Teaming; Project Planning.

What sets you apart:

• 5+ years of experience in strategy consulting, or a highly analytical strategic role; top-tier consulting experience.
• Exceptional analytical skills, including opportunity sizing, business cases, and performance analysis.
• Proven ability to translate complex analysis into clear insights, recommendations, and compelling executive-level narratives.
• Excellent PowerPoint and Excel capabilities, with experience developing fact based narratives and materials for senior executive audiences.
• Strong business and financial acumen, with experience in growth, deepening/loyalty, customer experience, product, or strategy.
• Highly self-directed and collaborative, with demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and drive work from problem definition through recommendation.

Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $189,370 - $361,950.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
