Job Title: Strategic Project Lead

The Role

As a Strategic Projects Lead (SPL), you will own end-to-end execution for projects with our top AI Lab customers. You will translate customer needs into clear project specifications, design and launch data pipelines, and align Operations and domain experts to deliver quickly and at a high quality.

What You'll Do

1. Own projects end to end, from pipeline framing and scoping through execution and delivery.
2. Translate customer needs into clear, actionable project specifications.
3. Design and continuously improve pipelines for usability, clarity, quality, and scalability.
4. Align Operations and domain experts for rapid deployment.
5. Set delivery milestones and drive a tight execution cadence.
6. Own client communication, keeping it clear, direct, and consistent.
7. Manage domain experts and project leads to ensure quality and delivery.
8. Provide daily internal updates with progress, blockers, and explicit next steps.

What We're Looking For

1. Exceptional communication and project management skills.
2. Strong ownership, urgency, and attention to detail.
3. Startup and entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward execution.
4. Background in data operations, engineering, computer science, or technical project management.
5. 2+ years of experience leading complex projects or operational workflows.
6. Ability to turn ambiguity into clear plans and execute rapidly.
7. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience working with AI/ML companies, AI Labs, or data annotation/evaluation projects.
2. Experience managing technical or data-intensive projects in a fast-paced startup environment.
3. Familiarity with data pipelines, AI training workflows, and human-in-the-loop operations.
4. Technical background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Compensation & Benefits Notice

The national pay range for this full-time position is base salary of $120,000 –$160,000 USD. All employees are eligible for equity compensation, and employees may also receive performance-based bonuses, dependent on role and subject to company policies. micro1 provides a comprehensive benefits package, including up to 100% reimbursement for health-insurance premiums, paid time off, a 401(K) plan with a company match, and additional benefits designed to support a high-performing, remote-first workforce.
