The Strategic Large Project Manager, Implementation and Onboarding oversees complex telecom service projects involving Lit and Dark Fiber, Waves, Ethernet, and other high-value services, ensuring technical and contractual requirements are met. This specific position will support Project Ascend, a strategic initiative to implement Enhanced Dark Fiber for key strategic as well as to improve network records and operational performance.
This position will manage cross-functional coordination, stakeholder relationships, and operational workflows while leveraging expertise in project management, data analysis, and telecom systems to drive smooth execution of large-scale initiatives. High proficiency in tools like Salesforce and MS Office, along with strong critical thinking and communication skills, are essential to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
Subject matter in Program and Process Management
Competent in project management and critical thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to manage projects to stakeholder technical specifications and contract requirements
Will need to be an effective internal stakeholder and customer management skills (verbal and written) including prioritization, collaboration, stakeholder analysis, and communication
Need to demonstrate system and process knowledge in network and fiber services implementation
Must execute project plans with dependencies, manage project milestones, meet performance metrics
Will work at a Project, Market, and Product/Service level nationally
Onboard, compile, and guide Ascend orders and records into ‘production’, and through completion, in partnership with Ascend Sr Technical Project Managers and OSP Project Managers.
Manage large datasets including issuing and managing orders, reporting results, and ensuring stakeholders are consulted and well informed
Assist with analysis to support cross-functional review of initiatives and projects.
Embody the ‘Voice of the Customer’ and “Voice of the Business” feedback to stakeholders
Develop & maintain bulk load templates and toolsets for Large Project onboarding
Perform in a supporting role to oversee daily PM operational tasks working cross-functionally.
Build, maintain, and report operational metrics for assigned project milestone management.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing Telecom service projects
Core competency with big data management, bulk loading, change management techniques
Advanced experience with Salesforce
Advanced command of MS Office suite, including Visio
Thorough knowledge of systems/tools, processes, and application of project management methodology at strategic and tactical levels.
Expert knowledge of Salesforce order staging, Billing processes and standards, provisioning plan concepts and tasking, Service Order Management workflow and process, and Fiber & Packet Engineering standards required
Familiarity with Outside Plant & Field Operations processes an asset
Project management and critical thinking skills; Excellent customer and stakeholder management skills (verbal and written) including risk analysis and conflict management/resolution
Ability to influence teams to action that are not in a direct reporting relationship to the team
Self driven and motivated to provide exceptional customer service
Ability to see and close personal gaps/growth areas; desire to continually improve and move up in the organization
Estimated base salary range: $77,100 - $118,600 USD/annually
The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.
Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
