About the role

As Forter's Strategic Alliance Manager in Australia, you'll develop and execute a partner ecosystem strategy to accelerate our growth in the ANZ & Southeast Asia markets. You'll work cross functionally to drive exponential growth through  cultivating strategic alliances, and building relationships with key stakeholders across the e-commerce, payments, and fraud prevention ecosystem. This is the first hire for Strategic Alliances in the region building from a lean base, with mountains of opportunity for the right individual that is comfortable building a market from lots of initial interest, but little established local infrastructure. 

What you'll be doing

• Strategic planning: Build and execute a business development plan for the ANZ & SEA region that aligns with Forter's overall objectives and growth targets.
• Partnership development: Identify, evaluate, and establish alliances with digital agencies, systems integrators, payment companies, Salesforce, AWS, and many more in the e-commerce ecosystem to expand our market presence.
• Sales and revenue growth: You own your territory and are responsible for driving success in the region spending time with the partners that will drive the greatest results with your regional sellers. Your sourced and accelerated numbers role up into the global Strategic Alliances teams overall success. 
• Partner Agreements: Own negotiations, contract development, and deal structuring, landing terms that work for both sides.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with local and regional sales teams and with global product, marketing, analytics, and operations to keep strategy and execution aligned.
• Relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry influencers.

What you'll need

• 5–7+ years in sales, business development, or strategic alliances — ideally in e-commerce, payments, or fraud prevention technology.
• Experience working within the Salesforce and/or AWS ecosystems.
• Strong grasp of e-commerce and payments market dynamics and emerging trends. Experience working with payment providers active in ANZ (Airwallex, Adyen, Stripe, Checkout.com, Zip, Block/Afterpay) is a significant plus.
• A track record of negotiating and closing complex partnership deals.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. You're a clear thinker, speaker, and writer, and you can make complex topics land visually.
• Startup experience preferred: comfort with a fast pace and shifting priorities, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves wherever help is needed.
• Willingness to travel regionally.
