Your day at NTT DATA
The storage engineer, specialist or architect supports enterprise storage, data-protection and related infrastructure services. The role ensures that platforms remain available, resilient, secure and capable of meeting workload performance and capacity requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor capacity, availability, utilisation and performance.
- Resolve incidents affecting storage access, replication, performance and data protection.
- Provision and configure storage according to approved standards.
- Perform platform maintenance, patching, upgrades and lifecycle activities.
- Support SAN, NAS, block, file and object-storage services.
- Maintain replication, backup and disaster-recovery capabilities.
- Analyse performance bottlenecks and capacity trends.
- Work with server, virtualisation, network, database and cloud teams.
- Maintain configuration records, diagrams and recovery procedures.
- Automate provisioning, monitoring and reporting where appropriate.
- At L4, lead resolution of complex storage and data-recovery incidents.
- At L5, define storage architecture, data-placement strategies and technology roadmaps.
