As a trusted partner to Vehicle Program Leadership and Chief Engineering, the Staff TPM owns the full-vehicle BOM management, program risks and dependencies, partner schedules and technical issue-resolution reviews whilst supporting the Vehicle Program Director in executive review preparation and the Program Lead in the integrated program execution plan.

Role:

  • Drive cross-functional execution against timing, cost, quality, technical, and launch objectives.
  • Lead program reviews, maintain objective program health reporting, and coordinate recovery plans where delivery is at risk.
  • Assess scope and change impacts and support timely, data-driven program decisions.

Vehicle-Level Technical Integration

  • Develop a strong working understanding of vehicle architecture, requirements, attributes, and technical deliverables.
  • Partner with Chief Engineering and functional teams to align hardware and software development at the vehicle level.
  • Facilitate technical trade-off and issue-resolution discussions, ensuring decisions reflect vehicle-level impacts.
  • Define and monitor measurable technical and integration readiness criteria.

Full-Vehicle BOM and Cost Management

  • Maintain program-level visibility and governance of the full-vehicle BOM across systems, modules, and commodities.
  • Drive achievement of BOM cost targets with Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Cost Engineering, and external partners.
  • Evaluate cost, content, timing, quality, investment, and performance trade-offs and ensure approved changes are reflected in the program baseline.
  • Identify BOM and cost risks early and coordinate mitigation, recovery, and escalation.

Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management

  • Establish and maintain integrated risk, issue, action, and dependency management for the vehicle program.
  • Proactively identify technical, software, schedule, resource, supplier, cost, quality, and launch risks.
  • Drive accountable mitigation and recovery plans with clear owners, timing, and impact assessments.
  • Escalate decisions and constraints with concise recommendations and transparent program impacts.

Cross-Functional and Software Coordination

  • Coordinate execution across Vehicle Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software, Electronics, Powertrain, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, Validation, Finance, Service, and Operations.
  • Align software release plans, feature maturity, validation, and integration events with hardware builds and vehicle milestones.
  • Ensure cross-functional stakeholders remain aligned on priorities, interfaces, commitments, and decision timing.

External Partner Management

  • Support as a vehicle-program interface for key suppliers, technology partners, and development partners.
  • Lead recurring schedule and timing reviews, deliverable tracking, and recovery planning with external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate technical issue-resolution discussions across internal teams and partners, driving closure of integration, quality, validation, and launch concerns.
  • Incorporate external commitments, dependencies, and risks into the integrated vehicle program plan.

Executive Communication and Launch Readiness

  • Prepare and present concise program status, risks, decisions, trade-offs, and recovery plans to senior leadership.
  • Drive readiness reviews across vehicle builds, software releases, validation, manufacturing, supply chain, service, and launch.
  • Monitor vehicle-level readiness metrics and lead closure of launch-critical issues.
  • Support the transition from development into production and sustained operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in technical program management, vehicle development, systems engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional vehicle or product development programs.
  • Strong understanding of engineering development, integrated planning, and product lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred:

  • Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in automotive, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, robotics, or other complex systems industries.
  • Demonstrated success managing integrated hardware and software programs.
  • Experience working with global suppliers, technology partners, or development partners.
  • Experience presenting to and influencing senior leaders and executives.

Success Measures

  • Achievement of program milestones and launch timing.
  • Delivery within approved full-vehicle BOM, investment, and operating-cost targets.
  • Vehicle quality, performance, software maturity, validation, and launch-readiness outcomes.
  • Early identification and effective closure of program risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • External partner delivery performance and technical issue-resolution effectiveness.
  • Cross-functional alignment and the accuracy, clarity, and effectiveness of executive reporting.
