Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to validate next-generation Managed Power Distribution Units (PDUs) used in enterprise IT infrastructure, AV systems, and edge computing environments.
This role focuses on validating Embedded Linux firmware, middleware, networking services, embedded web applications, REST APIs, configuration management, telemetry, OTA updates, and hardware/software integration, as well as the remote management from local controller and Cloud web portal.
The engineer will work closely with firmware, hardware, cloud, and ODM engineering teams to ensure high product quality throughout development and production.
Responsibilities
Firmware & System Validation
Validate Embedded Linux firmware and middleware features throughout the product lifecycle.
Verify firmware functionality across multiple hardware revisions.
Execute feature validation, regression testing, and system integration testing.
Validate firmware upgrade and downgrade flows.
Verify configuration persistence across reboot and power cycles.
Validate watchdog recovery and fault recovery mechanisms.
Functional Testing
Test features including:
Outlet control
Outlet scheduling
Sequential power on/off
Outlet grouping
User management
Sensor management
Alert configuration
Threshold configuration
Energy monitoring
Environmental monitoring
Logging and diagnostics

Automation
Develop automated validation for PDU with NETGEAR’s existing test automation framework.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
5+ years of embedded software validation experience
Strong Linux experience
Experience testing Embedded Linux products
Strong networking knowledge
Experience with REST API validation
Experience with Python automation
Experience with Git, JIRA, Confluence
Strong debugging skills
