Job Summary:
Provides senior management oversight for preconstruction operations across multiple large or complex projects. Leads and develops managers and preconstruction professionals to deliver accurate, consistent, and strategic estimating, budgeting, and planning services. Oversees preconstruction execution to ensure alignment with business objectives, operational efficiency, and client expectations. Partners with business unit and operations leaders to advance process standardization, innovation, and talent development across the preconstruction function.
Key Responsibilities:
Leads and manages multiple preconstruction teams to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across estimating, budgeting, and value engineering deliverables for highly visible or repeat client projects and programs.
Directs pursuit and planning efforts for complex or high-value projects, ensuring alignment with project and client goals, and serves as the primary relationship manager for key clients during preconstruction, demonstrating judgment, consistency and strong communication.
Partners with operations, design, and project leadership to integrate constructability, schedule, and risk assessments into preconstruction strategies, and collaborates with Self-Perform Work (SPW) and Family of Companies leadership to identify strategic integration opportunities that enhance cost certainty, performance, and differentiation.
Oversees the implementation and continuous improvement of preconstruction standards, tools, and processes while shaping pursuit strategies—including win scenarios, delivery approaches, and competitive positioning—in partnership with project leadership to drive efficiency and predictability.
Develops and mentors preconstruction managers and senior estimators, strengthening technical capability and leadership capacity.
Provides strategic input on pricing approaches, market conditions, and resource planning to support project acquisition and delivery. Leads complex cross-functional alignment across safety, operations, scheduling, and field leadership, resolving competing priorities and ensuring logistics, phasing, and cost strategies are coordinated and defensible on high-risk or strategic projects.
Represents the preconstruction function in client presentations and business planning discussions, reinforcing DPR’s commitment to quality and transparency.
Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Work Experience:
10 or more years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or related functions required.
3 or more years of experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity required.
Certifications and Licenses:
None required.
Anticipated starting pay range:
