We are looking for an experienced Senior Analyst, Customs Compliance to join our team.

An ideal candidate will:

Manage customs compliance across Signet's assigned international import/export operations, with primary accountability for Canada. This Canada-based individual contributor brings deep expertise in Canadian customs and strong international customs knowledge. The role owns Signet's Canada tariff grid, preferential trade programs, broker performance and customs accounting controls, while coordinating compliant activity across U.S. and other assigned markets. Support direct import, vendor import, drop ship, returns and repairs, partnering with Sourcing, Merchandising, Transportation, Finance, Legal and suppliers to maintain reliable landed-cost data and scalable operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary operational contact for Canada customs matters. Manage vendor onboarding, shipment documentation, clearance exceptions, holds and issue resolution across direct import, vendor import, drop ship and cross-border movements; train vendors on customs requirements.
• Coordinate compliance across other assigned markets with local brokers and business partners. Apply jurisdiction-specific import/export requirements, importer/exporter responsibilities, Incoterms and documentation standards; assess new vendors, sourcing countries and shipping models before implementation.
• Own the Canada tariff grid, including HS classifications, duty rates, tariff treatments, effective dates and supporting rationale. Apply the Canadian Customs Tariff, General Rules of Interpretation, Explanatory Notes and rulings. Align the Signet SKU Portal (SSP), brokers and import records; maintain distinct national codes for other assigned markets.
• Manage Signet's use of Canadian free trade agreements and preferential programs, including CUSMA, CETA and CPTPP. Validate product eligibility, origin evidence and applicable shipping conditions; maintain required certifications and renewals, issue supported broker instructions and assess preference opportunities in other assigned markets.
• Validate customs value, country of origin, currency, assists, discounts and other relevant valuation elements. Review duty, surtax and import-tax calculations with brokers and Finance; resolve discrepancies and maintain documented treatment for purchases, transfers, samples, returns and repairs.
• Manage operational requirements for the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management (CARM): review Commercial Accounting Declarations, reconcile Statements of Account with Finance, coordinate corrections and adjustments, maintain authorized broker access and monitor importer registrations and Release Prior to Payment security requirements.
• Monitor clearance timeliness, declaration accuracy, service performance and recurring errors. Resolve issues with brokers and vendors, verify corrective actions, and coordinate duty and tax payment readiness with Finance/Treasury while preserving payment approvals and segregation of duties.
• Coordinate return-to-vendor, repair, reimport, refund and drawback requirements across assigned markets. Maintain shipment-to-entry traceability, assess relief eligibility, assemble claim support and track deadlines and recoveries with brokers and Finance.
• Audit customs data and retain records under each jurisdiction's requirements. Prepare support for CBSA verifications, other customs inquiries and applicable U.S. CBP Forms 28/29. Support disclosures and formal responses under Customs leadership and Legal direction.
• Support origin/provenance, sanctions, forced-labor and wildlife/CITES documentation reviews, including Kimberley Process requirements for rough diamonds where applicable. Support PIP, CTPAT Security and CTPAT Trade Compliance activities as applicable, coordinating with Legal, Product Compliance and program owners.
• Monitor Canadian and relevant international trade developments; assess operational impact and implement approved tariff, system and procedure changes. Maintain customs manuals, training, audit evidence and performance reporting; identify automation opportunities and escalate material risks. Perform related duties and projects assigned by Customs leadership.

Qualifications

• • Bachelor's degree in Customs, International Trade, Logistics or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in customs compliance, trade compliance and/or customs brokerage experience, including hands-on import/export operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in international customs operations, including researching and applying jurisdiction-specific requirements across multiple trade lanes.
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Ability to independently resolve operational issues, document defensible customs decisions, assess risk and escalate matters beyond delegated authority.
  • Strong Excel, data analysis, reconciliation and customs or ERP system skills; clear written and verbal communication; effective organization, project coordination and vendor/broker relationship management.

Preferred

Certified Customs Specialist (CCS), Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS), another relevant customs credential or equivalent advanced expertise; jewelry, precious metals, gemstones or consumer-goods experience; working knowledge of U.S. and/or UK customs processes.
