We are looking for a proactive, technically skilled, and detail-oriented Supervisor – Solar Panel to support the operation and maintenance of the resort’s solar power generation system.
This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating solar panel installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities. The position provides technical direction to the Solar Panel Tradesman, coordinates work activities, and ensures that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved procedures, technical standards, and operational requirements.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily activities of Solar Panel Tradesman
- Assign tasks, provide work instructions, and establish work priorities
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with SOPs, work instructions, permits, and applicable technical and safety standards
- Coordinate solar panel-related activities with Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical, HSE, Operations, and other relevant departments
- Supervise the installation of solar panels, mounting structures, DC/AC cables, inverters, battery systems, combiner boxes, monitoring systems, and related equipment
- Ensure that all components are installed according to approved drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturer standards
- Inspect the quality of installation work, cable routing, electrical connections, grounding, and equipment alignment
- Support solar panel system testing, commissioning, and functional checks
- Identify installation deficiencies and coordinate appropriate corrective actions
- Supervise preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting activities
- Ensure completed repair work is properly tested and verified before the system is returned to operation
- Analyze equipment conditions, alarm indications, monitoring data, and inspection results to identify potential issues
- Provide technical recommendations to prevent recurring system failures
- Ensure team members understand and comply with applicable safety procedures
- Supervise the implementation of energy isolation, electrical safety, working-at-height, lifting, and other relevant safety procedures
- Ensure materials used comply with the required specifications
- Prepare daily, weekly, or periodic work reports as required
- Maintain inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, repair records, checklists, work orders, and other required technical documentation
- Provide technical guidance, coaching, and on-the-job support to Solar Panel Tradesman
- Identify training and competency development needs within the team
- Promote work discipline, effective communication, teamwork, and safe working practices
- Ensure proper use of PPE and compliance with work instructions, SOPs, and emergency response procedures
- Immediately report workplace accidents, serious damage, chemical spills, or potential hazards to the relevant supervisor or management
- Perform other solar panel and engineering-related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in solar photovoltaic systems, electrical systems, engineering maintenance, or related technical operations
- Experience as a Senior Technician, Foreman, Team Leader, Supervisor, or in a similar role is preferred
- Experience in installation, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems
- Experience in industrial facilities, utilities, construction projects, energy, or related operations is preferred.
- Good understanding of solar photovoltaic systems and their operating principles
- Knowledge of DC and AC electrical systems
- Knowledge of inverters, combiner boxes, battery systems, monitoring systems, and electrical protection devices
- Ability to read and interpret single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, layouts, and technical drawings
- Understanding of testing, commissioning, grounding, energy isolation, and electrical safety procedures
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance and troubleshooting methods for electrical equipment
- Ability to use electrical measuring instruments such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and earth testers
- Understanding of HSE requirements, particularly electrical safety and working-at-height practices
- Ability to inspect and identify problems in solar panel systems
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, equipment specifications, and data sheets
- Ability to verify the quality of installation and maintenance work
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, email, and maintenance management systems where applicable
- Ability to work under pressure and respond appropriately to emergency situations
- Strong leadership, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in shifts, on holidays, or on an on-call basis as required by hotel operations
