The Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Flow team within the Post-Delivery Protection and Response business unit, which develops the Microsoft 365 add-in (currently for Outlook) for data loss prevention (DLP).

The team is preparing to scale its services and products further, deepen its integration with Microsoft, and align more closely with the wider Proofpoint ecosystem.

The Flow team’s tech stack includes:

• Languages: JavaScript, React, Python 3.10 (Other Object-Oriented Programming languages are a bonus)

• AWS Services such as - SQS, SNS - ECS, ECR - Lambda functions

• High volume NoSQL and SQL databases such as DynamoDB and Postgres

• Terraform-built environments.

• DevOps tools and methodologies such as: CircleCI pipelines management, Docker containerization

• Git and GitHub for software versioning

Responsibilities

In the Flow Team, we deeply appreciate DevOps culture, as we build our services and we run them. Our day-to-day work involves improving our services' scalability and reliability; researching security vulnerabilities and implementing security measures; and monitoring production environments to discover what is next for the team using product data. Our research also includes ways to improve the user experience in our Outlook clients (desktop and OWA) on both Windows and Mac platforms and to help harden the Human Security Layer

You will be expected to:

• Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors

• Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions

• Work and collaborate with Senior or Staff engineers when carrying out complex tasks as well as working independently on less complex tasks

• Deploy continuously via CI/CD. - Tackle the challenges that come with processing sensitive data

• Learn to build with security in mind

• Make your mark on ambitious projects.

Integrating our product with email platforms such as Google and Microsoft is a technically complex challenge, especially at our scale and security requirements. Our main challenge ahead is scaling, both vertically (size of individual tenants) and horizontally (number of total tenants). We will consider experience working with data and infrastructure at scale a bonus.
