Job Description Summary

•As a Database Administrator is responsible for the Maintenance, Migration, performance, integrity, security and fine tune of a database to operate securely and efficiently.
•PL/SQL (Procedural Language/Structured Query Language) developers specialize in writing and optimizing PL/SQL code within relational databases preferably in Postgres and SQL Server . They work closely with application developers, database administrators, and users to create efficient and scalable database applications.
•SQL (Structured Query Language) developers focus on writing and optimizing SQL queries for database applications. They work closely with database administrators and application developers to ensure efficient data retrieval and manipulation. They should be able to review or help in writing complex SQL queries to improve the performance of the system.
•As a Database Administrator is responsible to perform complex DB migration activities based on customer requirements/needs where as high volumes of data have to be migrated more aligned to business/domain use cases.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Having good experience Postgress RDS
• Should be able to manage SQL opeartions on Postgress RDS instances
• Creating and modifying databases, including tables, indexes, views and DB Partitions.
• Monitoring and optimizing database performance through tuning and indexing.
• Performing periodic backups and ensuring data recoverability during disaster.
• Troubleshooting and resolving database and SQL problems.
• Responsible to come up DB scripts to be required to migrate large volumes of data with entities across multiple databases/schemas.
• Developing and maintaining documentation and operating procedures.
• Writing and optimizing PL/SQL code for various database procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
• Developing and maintaining database stored procedures and scripts to support application development.
• Optimizing SQL queries for performance and scalability.
• Collaborating with developers to integrate PL/SQL code with application logic.
• Writing and optimizing SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and reporting.
• Developing and maintaining database views, stored procedures, and functions.
• Ensuring SQL code meets performance and scalability requirements.
• Debugging and troubleshooting SQL code issues independently and sometimes with application developer.
• Monitoring database performance metrics such as CPU usage, memory usage, and disk utilization.
