Software Engineer

We are looking for… Hopefully, you! We're bringing our website and digital product engineering in-house, and this is the role that makes that happen. As our Software Engineer, you'll keep our Next.js and React site (deployed on Vercel) fast, reliable and easy to build on, with safe, frequent releases backed by solid CI/CD. You'll also lay the platform foundations for new digital capabilities, starting with online sampling for our customers.

It's not a website-only job. You'll be the engineering resource for the wider technology function: connecting systems like NetSuite and Shopify, and supporting MAX, our AI agent platform, as it grows. You'll work closely with our product, marketing and technology teams, plus external partners and vendors.

The Software Engineer's key responsibilities will include:

Website and digital product

• Own and evolve our Next.js / React / Vercel website architecture
• Build responsive, accessible interfaces with real design quality
• Lay the platform foundations for new capabilities like online sampling
• Investigate and fix defects and production issues quickly
• Manage technical risk: security, performance and dependencies

Engineering quality and delivery

• Ship high-quality code through proper CI/CD, so releases are low-drama
• Write and maintain unit, integration and end-to-end tests
• Review code and keep improving how we build

Integrations and platform support

• Build and maintain integrations and APIs across the business, not just the website
• Support MAX, our AI agent platform, as it expands
• Document your work so it's genuinely maintainable

Requirements

We need you to bring…

• A bachelor's degree or higher in information technology, software engineering, computer science or a closely related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with Next.js, React and Vercel - core to the role, not a nice-to-have
• Solid integrations and API skills, with genuine comfort working on systems beyond the website
• Real CI/CD experience - you care about the pipeline as much as the product
• Experience writing unit and end-to-end tests
• A full understanding of Agile and experience working in a regular sprint cycle
• Comfort owning a platform end to end, including the unglamorous parts: performance, reliability and the small fixes that keep everything running
• Confidence with AI-enabled engineering and IDEs such as Cursor and Antigravity
• Clear communication - you can explain technical trade-offs to people who don't need the detail
• The ability to switch contexts between polished customer-facing work and the systems plumbing that keeps the business running
• Good judgement on scope: you know the difference between what's needed now and what can wait
• A collaborative style, building rapport with our product, marketing and technology teams as well as external staff and vendors
• A solution-focused mindset, with ownership of quality and maintainability over time
• Nice to have: Contentstack or a similar headless CMS, NetSuite or a similar ERP, or experience supporting AI or agent-based platforms
• Nice to have: A postgraduate qualification in IT, software engineering or a related field; Contentstack or a similar headless CMS, NetSuite or a similar ERP, or experience supporting AI or agent-based platforms
