Liquid Personnel is recruiting an experienced Social Work Manager - Children's Social Care for its client's Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) based in Gateshead. This is a full-time agency role offering £36.61 per hour and an exciting opportunity to support the development of a newly established MASH service within a forward-thinking local authority.
The successful candidate will provide leadership and management support within the MASH Team, working collaboratively with social care professionals and multi-agency partners to ensure timely, effective, and safe decision-making on all incoming contacts and referrals. This role is ideal for an experienced manager with a strong safeguarding background and expertise in front-door services.

Responsibilities
- Provide management support within the newly established Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
- Work closely with the Assistant Team Manager (Social Work) and Assistant Team Manager (Family Help).
- Oversee screening processes, threshold decisions, and safeguarding responses.
- Support practitioners with risk assessment, complex decision-making, and case direction.
- Ensure referrals are progressed appropriately, effectively, and within statutory timescales.
- Promote high-quality social work practice and ensure compliance with legislation, policy, and procedures.
- Monitor performance and support continuous improvement across the service.
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to safeguard children and young people.
- Provide professional guidance, supervision, and support where required.
- Contribute to service development and the successful implementation of MASH processes and procedures.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
- Previous Team Manager, Assistant Team Manager, or senior leadership experience within Children's Services.
- Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience within MASH, Duty and Assessment, Front Door, or Referral and Assessment services.
- Proven ability to manage complex safeguarding concerns and support robust decision-making.
- Excellent understanding of relevant children's legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding procedures.
- Strong communication, leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with multi-agency partners and stakeholders.
