Job Summary

As a Social Media Specialist, you will be the person who shows up for that community every day across every platform where they gather. We are not looking for someone to manage a queue. We are looking for someone who genuinely wants to represent this brand and the people behind it.

Social media is 24/7, and so is our community. The right person for this role understands that and is comfortable with the flexibility that comes with it, including occasional evening or weekend availability as needed.

You will be part of our Community Experience team, working closely with our Social Media Community Manager, but operating independently and owning your work from start to finish.

Responsibilities 

• Own each customer interaction, ensuring every person who reaches out feels heard, helped, and valued.
• Respond to comments, questions, and direct messages across all brand social platforms in a timely, accurate, and on-brand way.
• Proactively engage with followers, community members, and relevant conversations to strengthen brand relationships and keep conversations going.
• Participate authentically in the spaces where our audience already gathers, including Facebook, Reddit, and beyond.
• Write in a way that reflects the Camping World brand voice while adapting naturally to each platform's tone and culture.
• Resolve issues with empathy, turning challenging interactions into positive experiences wherever possible.
• Escalate when needed and follow through until the issue is resolved.
• Monitor brand mentions and social conversations to identify engagement opportunities and surface anything that needs attention.

Requirements 

• Strong copywriting skills with the ability to write with clarity, personality, and tonal awareness across platforms.
• A genuine passion for social media. You are fluent on Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, Threads, Reddit, and LinkedIn, and understand the culture and expectations of each platform.
• Critical thinking and sound judgment. You can read a situation and determine the right response without a script for every scenario.
• The ability to engage proactively and reactively, shifting naturally between initiating and resolving conversations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple conversations across multiple platforms independently.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications 

• A passion for the RV lifestyle, camping, or the outdoors.
• RV industry or product knowledge is a plus.
• Prior experience in customer service, community management, or social media in any context, professional or otherwise.
• Familiarity with Salesforce or another CRM platform.
• Experience with Sprout Social or a comparable social media management tool.

The pay range for this role considers several factors in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.   At Camping World, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the factors stated. A reasonable estimate of the current range is listed below.
