SNOWFLAKE DATA PLATFORM ENGINEER

POSITION OVERVIEW
As the Snowflake Data Platform Engineer, you will serve as the primary custodian of the organization’s Snowflake data warehouse environment. This role is responsible for administering, maintaining, optimizing, and evolving the Snowflake platform to support reliable, secure, cost-effective, and high-performing data operations.
The Snowflake Data Platform Engineer will manage core platform administration, create and maintain database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, tasks, and pipelines, and support internal and external data integrations. This position will also evaluate new Snowflake features, test platform upgrades, monitor the Snowflake product roadmap, and help ensure the organization is taking advantage of relevant capabilities as the platform evolves.
This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical data warehouse expertise with a proactive ownership mindset, ensuring that Snowflake remains a scalable, well-governed, and business-enabling data platform.
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years of experience working with Snowflake, cloud data warehouses, data engineering, database administration, or related data platform technologies
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Analytics, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience may be considered
- Strong knowledge of Snowflake administration, including warehouses, databases, schemas, roles, permissions, security, and resource monitoring
- Experience creating and maintaining Snowflake tables, views, stored procedures, tasks, streams, and other database objects
- Experience designing, implementing, and supporting data pipelines for both inbound and outbound data movement • Familiarity with internal and external integrations, including APIs, ETL/ELT tools, cloud storage platforms, and third-party data providers
- Strong understanding of data warehouse performance tuning, query optimization, warehouse sizing, clustering, and cost management
- Ability to evaluate, test, and implement new Snowflake features, upgrades, and platform enhancements
- Familiarity with Snowflake’s product roadmap and emerging data platform capabilities
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Experience with SQL required; experience with Python, Fivetran, Informatica, Azure, AWS, is a plus
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary administrator and custodian of the organization’s Snowflake data warehouse environment
- Manage Snowflake platform configuration, including users, roles, permissions, warehouses, databases, schemas, and security controls
- Create, maintain, and optimize Snowflake tables, views, stored procedures, tasks, streams, and other data warehouse objects
- Design, implement, and support internal and external data pipelines that bring data into Snowflake and send data to downstream systems
- Plan and implement integrations between Snowflake and other enterprise systems, applications, cloud platforms, and data tools
- Monitor platform performance, storage usage, compute consumption, and query activity to ensure optimal cost and performance
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve Snowflake efficiency, scalability, reliability, and governance
- Test new Snowflake upgrades, features, and capabilities before broader adoption
- Stay informed of the Snowflake product roadmap and recommend relevant enhancements for the organization
- Partner with data engineering, analytics, IT, security, and business teams to support data availability, quality, and accessibility Develop and maintain documentation related to Snowflake architecture, administration procedures, data pipelines, integrations, and operational standards
- Support troubleshooting and incident resolution for Snowflake-related issues, including data loads, pipeline failures, access issues, and performance concerns
- Help establish and enforce best practices for Snowflake development, deployment, security, cost management, and environment governance

The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and location. The final offer will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, and qualifications. This position may be eligible for other compensation, including bonuses and Restricted Stock Units (subject to company plans).
