SeatGeekIQ works alongside major sports and entertainment rightsholders to build and run a collaborative pricing and inventory strategy, operating as an extension of their commercial teams and accountable to the same outcomes they are. The Senior Trader is the senior owner on a subset of our largest partnerships: the pricing calls, the inventory position, and the relationship with the people on the other side of them. Reporting to Kevin Shelton, Director of SeatGeekIQ, they work across live pricing, inventory strategy, partner management, and research, and help build what the team offers next. The team leans hard on automation and AI to keep analytical overhead off traders' plates, so the job stays about judgment rather than assembly.

At this level, you're accountable for the commercial health of the relationship, not just the pricing execution. That means owning renewal posture and escalations and being the person a partner's leadership calls first. You'll also be a pricing reference point for traders earlier in their careers, reviewing their work on high-stakes events and setting the standard for how the team operates.

What you'll do

• Serve as senior owner on a set of our largest sports and entertainment partnerships, setting pricing strategy with each partner, defending it, and revising it as the market moves
• Own the commercial health of those relationships, including renewal posture, escalations, and regular engagement with partner leadership
• Set and move prices across the event lifecycle, from presale through day-of, against sell-through targets, price realization, and spoilage risk
• Decide what inventory to hold, what to release, how to distribute it across channels, and when a position needs to be worked down rather than defended
• Manage the ongoing partner relationship through weekly and event-level reporting, regular strategy check-ins, and candid conversations when the market disagrees with the plan
• Mentor traders earlier in their careers and review their pricing work on high-stakes events
• Answer partner research questions on marketplace behavior, demand drivers, and season or event projections, then turn one-off requests into repeatable outputs the whole team can run
• Spot gaps in what we offer, such as services partners keep asking for, manual workflows that should be automated, or places AI tooling could sharpen a call, and lead pilots and builds of the solutions, including shaping our internal pricing and market intelligence products
• Close the loop after events with analysis of what pricing decisions actually produced, and carry it into the next cycle
• Travel roughly 20% of the year or more, concentrated in season and carrying a larger share of the team's on-site load, for partner site visits and business reviews, live events alongside partner teams (including evenings and weekends), industry conferences, and team offsites

What you have

• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, statistics, sports management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 5+ years of experience in ticket pricing, revenue management, trading, or a comparable analytical commercial role, including at least 2 years as the owner of client or partner relationships, preferably in sports, live entertainment, or another dynamic-pricing industry
• Real sports knowledge: you understand how standings, schedules, rivalries, star players, and playoff races move demand, and can talk shop credibly with people who've worked in sports their whole careers.
• Genuine awareness of live entertainment, including how touring, on-sales, and routing shape demand
• Significant experience in ticket pricing, revenue management, trading, or a comparable analytical commercial role, including ownership of pricing decisions with real money attached
• A track record as the senior owner of a significant commercial relationship, having carried a book rather than just executed within one
• Experience being accountable when a partnership is under strain, not only when it's performing
• Experience bringing others along through mentoring, reviewing work, or setting the standard others followed
• Fluency with sell-through, price realization, ATP, GTV, and inventory aging, and the judgment to know when the model is telling you something and when it isn't.
• Comfort in spreadsheets and BI tooling, including reading and questioning data you didn't produce
• A concrete example of turning a one-off analysis into something reusable so nobody had to answer it from scratch again
• Nice to have: experience on the rightsholder side (club, league, venue, or promoter) or with a secondary marketplace, exposure to commercial deal structuring, and familiarity with data analytics concepts and workflows

The salary range for this role is $112,000 - $162,000 USD. This role is equity eligible. In addition, you may receive a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation packages within that range are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and specific location.
