MuleSoft’s Professional Services team works across every technology and system to deliver solutions to customers in every industry. As a Technical Consultant or Sr Technical Consultant on our Services team, you will work hands-on with our customers and partners to solve mission-critical business challenges using MuleSoft’s Anypoint Platform. You will provide technical guidance on MuleSoft implementation projects, evaluate the customer’s technical and functional requirements, and develop cost-effective solutions to provide customers with demonstrable returns. 

As a subject-matter expert, you will build the next generation of Agentic Architecture, developing Mule applications that serve as actionable tools for autonomous AI networks and implementing secure multi-agent ecosystems across cloud and hybrid environments.

You will do:

• Deliver hands-on Mule application development (APIs, flows, DataWeave, MUnit, error handling) against architecture provided by the engagement's Technical Architect.
• Implement canonical / customer-specific contracts, including saga, idempotency, async, and event-driven patterns where prescribed.
• Convert standard MuleSoft APIs into discoverable, structured assets utilizing MuleSoft MCP (Model Context Protocol) Support, enabling AI agents to natively browse, query, and take action.
• Implement secure, cross-domain communication channels using the A2A Protocol to allow autonomous agents to safely delegate tasks to one another.
• Produce required engagement deliverables: design notes, technical documentation, runbooks, MUnit suites, test evidence, deployment artifacts.
• Work side by side with customer technical teams, MuleSoft architects, and others to unblock delivery.
• Operate within the customer's cloud / on-prem / hybrid environment per the engagement architecture; troubleshoot in Dev / Test / Prod as required.
• Comply with MuleSoft delivery standards, code-review gates, and the customer's change-management policies.
• Track and report time, status and risk on the cadence defined by the Engagement Manager.

We are looking for: 

• 3+ years hands-on Mule 4 development delivering production integrations. 
• Active MuleSoft Certified Developer — Level 1, or willingness to certify within the first 30 days at the contractor's own cost.
• Demonstrated end-to-end implementation of integration projects: requirements to deployment.
• Strong DataWeave 2.x, RAML / OAS, MUnit, and HTTP / Salesforce / JMS / DB connectors.
• Working experience with CloudHub, API Manager policies, and Anypoint Exchange.
• Java troubleshooting and reading skills (heap, threads, profiling basics).
• Self-sufficient on Mule fundamentals — able to plug into a delivery team without supervision.
• An understanding of data formats used in AI grounding and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) contexts.

Nice to have:

• Anypoint Runtime Fabric experience.
• Active MuleSoft Certified Developer — Level 2 or MuleSoft Architecture Certification
• Industry-vertical delivery exposure (telco, financial services, healthcare, public sector, retail).
• Event-driven design with Anypoint MQ, Kafka, or Solace.
• Familiarity with Salesforce Agentforce configurations and driving external actions via MuleSoft event streams.
• Familiarity with context-handling techniques for LLMs, such as managing chat histories, injecting variables into prompt templates via Mule flows, and handling unstructured data sources.
• Hands-on experience building generative integration applications with MuleSoft Vibes or Anypoint Code Builder's natural language capabilities.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines into Anypoint (Maven, mule-maven-plugin, Anypoint CLI).

Business sense:

• Ability to translate complex technical architectures and MuleSoft topics into clear, high-level business value.
• Results-oriented with a strong collaborative mindset, high self-motivation, and a track record of proactive networking.
• Working English (spoken, written); additional regional languages where the engagement requires.
• Readiness to travel (10–25%) regionally or internationally as required by the engagement
• Experience working in international, cross-functional teams and multicultural environments is a plus.
