About This Job
We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly curious Senior Tax Analyst to join our finance team. This position is ideal for a professional with a foundational tax background who is ready to take on greater responsibility in corporate tax provisioning, general ledger accounting, and cross-departmental collaboration.In this role, your work will be reviewed by senior tax leadership, providing a strong mentorship environment where you can refine your technical skills and deepen your understanding of corporate tax operations.
What You'll Do…
- Tax Accounting & Provision (ASC 740):
- Lead the preparation and calculation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740.
- Prepare deferred tax asset/liability calculations, tax basis balance sheets, and valuation allowance analyses.
- Assist with tax footnote disclosures and tax rate reconciliations.
- Indirect Tax & Sales Tax Management:
- Reconcile monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns across multiple state and local jurisdictions.
- Audit and verify customer exemption certificates and resolve billing tax disputes.
- Support state and local sales tax audits by gathering documentation and transaction details.
- General Ledger & Financial Reconciliation:
- Prepare month-end, quarter-end, and year-end tax-related general ledger journal entries.
- Perform detailed monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for role related accounts (e.g., accrued taxes, deferred taxes, sales tax payable, payroll tax payable).
- Identify, investigate, and resolve variances or discrepancies in tax accounts promptly.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as a primary tax contact for AP, AR, Accounting, and Legal departments to resolve tax-related operational inquiries.
- Clearly communicate tax requirements and guidelines to non-tax stakeholders across the organization.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant tax experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or a hybrid environment.
- Working knowledge of ASC 740 income tax accounting principles and general sales tax concepts.
- A natural tendency to ask "why," dig beneath the surface of numbers, and trace data back to its source to understand root issues.
- Ability to articulate complex tax concepts clearly and concisely, both in written reports and verbal conversations with non-tax teams.
- Comfortable working in a structured environment where work papers and calculations are rigorously reviewed for technical precision.
- A plus would be any experience with Zuora, Sage, Anrok, Salesforce.
- Experience with or exposure to AI-powered tools (e.g., through personal or professional use), with an interest in leveraging AI to improve efficiency in tax operations.
- Bonus: CPA designation or progress toward CPA certification.

We are targeting a starting salary of $75,000 - $120,000 based on the intended level for this role.
