The Role

Our Docklands office is the hub for our corporate functions within the Bega Group. As a Senior Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for managing direct and indirect tax compliance, preparing tax forecasts, maintaining accurate tax records, and providing expert tax advice across the business. Working in a fast-paced FMCG environment, you will support both local and international tax matters, with exposure to overseas tax issues highly regarded.

This is a hands-on, highly analytical role requiring the ability to interpret complex tax and financial data, identify risks and opportunities, and provide practical recommendations to stakeholders. As part of a small team, you will work autonomously, take ownership of your responsibilities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of tax processes and controls.

This opportunity is suited to an experienced tax professional with strong technical expertise and the confidence to manage complex tax matters independently. It is not an entry-level role and requires demonstrated experience across tax compliance, reporting and advisory activities.

This is a permanent full-time position based in Docklands, VIC.

The team currently operates on a hybrid working model, with office attendance required on Mondays and Tuesdays. From 2027, this will increase to three office days per week (Monday, Tuesday and Friday), with two days working from home. Applicants must be comfortable working within these arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax effect accounting calculations across the Group for both statutory and internal reporting requirements.
• Prepare and review Corporate Income Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) and Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns, ensuring compliance with all regulatory obligations.
• Provide technical advice to the business on GST treatment and classification of products, services and transactions.
• Undertake detailed analysis of financial and tax data to support tax reporting, compliance and advisory activities, identifying tax risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Manage international tax compliance obligations across the Group's overseas operations and provide guidance on international tax matters, including cross-border transactions, tax structuring and related compliance requirements.

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following disciplines (or similar); Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance, Economics, Business Administration and/or Law
• Qualified CPA or CA or completed Masters of Tax (or working towards completion)
• 7+years of relevant tax experience at a Big four/mid tier firm or similar size ASX listed corporation highly desirable.
• Experience working for an FMCG/Manufacturing organisation would be beneficial
• Strong ability to work autonomously
