• Design, implement, test, deploy, and run scalable, highly available microservices for APM.

• Lead and contribute to system design: define service boundaries, data models, APIs, SLAs/SLOs, and integration patterns.

• Accelerate time-to-market by simplifying architectures, reducing toil, and maximizing automation across CI/CD, testing, infrastructure, and operations.

• Prototype and validate new approaches and integrations; productionize successful experiments.

• Participate in the production support rota (on-call), ensuring robust observability, incident response, and post-incident reviews.

• Instrument services and build tooling to enable data-driven decisions.

• Contribute to architecture, design reviews, performance, security, and reliability work.

• Collaborate across teams on technology choices, patterns, and shared components to avoid duplication and speed delivery.

• Coach and review work of less experienced engineers.

What you'll bring

• Strong experience building and operating large-scale cloud microservices

• Proficiency with Java, Spring Boot, Docker

• Solid TDD and automated testing practice; quality-first, test-first mindset

• Strong system design skills for distributed systems (fault tolerance, partitioning, consistency models, idempotency, retries/backoff, timeouts, circuit breakers)

• Track record of improving developer productivity and release velocity (e.g., CI/CD optimizations, tooling, automation)

• Comfortable with Agile delivery and continuous improvement

• Fluent in English (written and verbal)

It’s a bonus if you have

• Kubernetes, AWS, OpenShift

• Kafka or other messaging systems

• Payments domain experience (cards, APMs, scheme integrations)

• PCI-DSS exposure
