THE ROLE
Everpure Cloud Azure Native is a generally available service that brings enterprise-grade block storage natively to Azure. With the first version already live, we are expanding the service into new use cases and markets while improving its reliability, operability, and customer experience.
Our Foundation team owns a Go-based control-plane service that coordinates how customers provision and use storage in Azure. Around it, we work with a modern cloud stack including Temporal and other platform services for workflows, automation, and observability. This is a production cloud service: the code you write directly shapes how customers deploy, scale, and operate storage in their Azure environments.
You’ll work on a core storage service in a major public cloud, as part of a joint effort between Everpure and Microsoft. You’ll design and evolve APIs and service behavior in the critical path of real customer workloads, collaborating closely with engineers across both companies.
Clear API contracts, long-lived interfaces, test automation, and CI/CD are fundamental to how we build. You’ll have the opportunity to own services end to end and solve complex distributed-systems problems in the public cloud.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own and evolve a production cloud service that powers Everpure Cloud Azure Native, taking features from idea and design through deployment and operation in Azure for real customers.
- Build new capabilities and improve existing ones within the control-plane service, from refining user flows and exposing system state to usage metering and other capabilities that improve the customer experience.
- Improve service reliability and operability through test automation, CI/CD, metrics, alerting, and engineering practices that enable the team to deliver changes safely.
- Shape how we build by contributing to the tools, technologies, and engineering patterns we use across Go, Python, Azure, Temporal, and other platform services.
- Continuously improve the system by simplifying code and APIs, identifying opportunities to make the service safer and easier to operate, and acting on learnings from postmortems.
- Collaborate across teams and companies, working with engineers across Everpure Cloud and Microsoft on joint design, integrations, and incident follow-ups.
- Share ownership of the service in production, including on-call responsibilities, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvements to how the team builds and operates the platform.
- We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the {{OFFICE_LOCATION}} office in compliance with Everpure's policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Experience building and maintaining backend services or APIs in production, with an understanding of reliable and scalable software design.
- Strong programming skills in at least one modern language, such as Go, Python, Java, or C#, with openness to working primarily with Go and learning new technologies where needed.
- Experience taking software end to end, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, monitoring, and iterative improvement in production.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, including working through issues that cross service boundaries, APIs, and infrastructure components.
- Ability to design and evolve maintainable APIs and services, considering reliability, compatibility, and long-term operation.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across engineering teams, sharing technical ideas and giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Experience with cloud or modern infrastructure environments, such as public cloud services, containers, Kubernetes, CI/CD, or similar technologies.
