About you:
The Senior Software Engineer is a highly technical, hands-on role focused primarily on designing, building, and delivering production software. Rather than being a pathway into management, this position is intended for someone who wants to remain a deep technical expert with significant influence over architecture, engineering standards, and technical direction.
Day-to-day, you will:
Design, develop, and deliver high-quality, scalable software across backend, frontend, APIs, and integrations, ensuring reliability, performance, security, and maintainability.
Lead technical architecture and engineering best practices, driving code quality, CI/CD, testing, observability, incident resolution, and continuous improvement.
Mentor and develop engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and active participation in hiring to maintain a high engineering standard.
Research and adopt modern technologies and AI-driven development practices, proactively addressing technical debt and contributing to long-term platform strategy.
Key Performance Indicators
Deliver reliable, high-performing software that meets production SLAs, with strong focus on system availability, security, and operational excellence.
Drive engineering efficiency by improving deployment frequency, reducing lead time, minimizing change failure rates, and ensuring rapid incident resolution.
Maintain high code quality through effective code reviews, proactive security practices, and adoption of AI-enabled development tools.
Mentor engineers to strengthen technical capability, foster continuous improvement, and prevent recurring defects through knowledge sharing and root cause resolution.
Your skills and experiences might also include:
Extensive software engineering experience delivering production systems, with expertise in clean code, automated testing, CI/CD, RESTful APIs, SQL, cloud databases, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and architectural design.
Strong proficiency in modern technologies including C#/.NET, Java, TypeScript/React, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred, with exposure to AWS).
Leverage AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor, Devin) throughout the software development lifecycle to improve coding, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and team productivity.
Solid understanding of secure software development practices, including authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, PII protection, and GDPR/UK GDPR compliance.
