Role Summary

JLL is seeking an experienced and technically accomplished Software Engineer 3 (P3) to join our Workplace Digital Technology (WDT) team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and evolution of mission-critical, scalable software systems that power JLL’s digital workplace platforms. You will act as a technical anchor—driving architectural decisions, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring engineering excellence across the full application lifecycle. Your work will directly impact global workplace experiences for JLL clients and employees.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex features and platform capabilities, from concept through design, implementation, testing, and deployment.

• Architect and develop robust, high-performance, cloud-native applications using modern full-stack technologies and microservices patterns.

• Drive technical strategy for system scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability; influence platform-wide engineering standards.

• Champion engineering best practices—including test automation, observability, CI/CD maturity, and “shift-left” quality—across multiple teams.

• Collaborate deeply with Product Management, UX, and cross-functional stakeholders to define and refine technical roadmaps aligned with business outcomes.

• Mentor and coach Software Engineers (P2/P3), providing guidance on code quality, design patterns, and career growth.

• Troubleshoot and resolve high-severity production incidents; lead post-mortems and implement preventive measures.

• Contribute to and enforce JLL’s security, compliance, data governance, and operational excellence policies.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement through agile ceremonies, technical retrospectives, and knowledge sharing.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• 6+ years of professional software development experience building enterprise-grade SaaS or PaaS solutions.

• Deep expertise in backend development with C#/.NET Core and modern API design (RESTful services).

• Proven experience designing and optimizing relational databases (SQL Server preferred) and working with NoSQL stores (e.g., Cosmos DB, MongoDB) or search engines (e.g., Elasticsearch).

• Strong command of cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, including PaaS/IaaS services, networking, and identity management.

• Extensive experience with ORM frameworks such as Entity Framework Core.

• Demonstrated ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code backed by comprehensive automated tests (unit, integration, E2E).

• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Git-based workflows, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes or Azure Kubernetes Service).

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a globally distributed, agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading technical initiatives or serving as a de facto tech lead within an agile squad.

• ⁠Understanding of accessibility (a11y), internationalization (i18n), and performance optimization at scale.

• Familiarity with frontend frameworks such as Angular or React (sufficient to collaborate effectively with frontend engineers).

• Exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g., Terraform, ARM/Bicep) and DevOps/SRE practices.
