Job Description

DUTIES: Works on the Firmware OTA (FOTA) backend platform that takes care of Campaign executions and delivery of Firmware Over The Air Updates to GM vehicles. Follows DevOps principles owning end to end responsibility of multiple critical microservices that takes care of different OTA workflows, package building and all types of vehicle interactions. Designs various business features, implements them, ensures quality, deploys to different environments with CI / CD pipelines and supports the user community for issues. Creates a highly integrated and reliable OTA backend platform and plays a critical role in providing nonfunctional requirements to the backlog and continuously managing them. Designs, implements, and delivers high quality technical solutions on time for business problems by gathering all the necessary details needed from different stake holders. Understands complex technical platform through independent analysis, provide new ideas and solutions for enhancing the platform. Understands business requirements and architectural solutions, able to come up with detailed technical design that involves database schema design, flow sequences, and interface and API specifications between different components. Breaks down business features into stories with required technical and business details and come up with realistic estimates for stories and features. Documents detailed design for the team to understand and follow during implementation. Advocates non-functional requirements needed by the platform including code quality, code coverage, performance, scalability, and security to the team, takes lead on peer reviews and pulls requests of source code, and ensures the standards are met. Drives the team development processes and technical standards and takes ownership on implementation and compliance of processes and technical standards for the team. Collaborates within the development team, product management team, architecture team, other stake holders and user community for understanding and deriving solutions that work. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 days In-office, 2 days remote - Must be able to report to local office.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications, Applied Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field of study and Five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role. Five (5) years of experience with: Software development in complex platforms including a cloud-native environment; Developing 12-factor microservices while utilizing Continuous Integration, Build, and Delivery with Spring and Spring Boot; Microservices, RESTAPIs and event driven architecture and performance optimization techniques; Developing JAVA and Spring boot-based components; JAVA, Spring boot and related tech stack, Spring

Cloud, REST, KAFKA, PULSAR, JMS, ORACLE, POSTGRES, and AKKA Framework; Debugging, triaging, and analyzing production issues using tools including ELK stack and Prometheus; and Cloud computing concepts and cloud platforms including Cloud Foundry, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
