We are looking for a detail-oriented, hands-on Software Engineer to strengthen and grow our data collection, software interfaces, and infrastructure, which we use to report key business metrics and analyze our manufacturing process in real time. You will work with a team of veteran material scientists and mechanical, electrical, metrology, and data engineers, supporting and leading various development projects. Our goal will be to achieve maximum productivity for our R&D and production line by improving software experiences, automating tasks, standardizing data collection and application interfaces, and ensuring application security. A strong candidate has a subset of the listed skills/qualifications and an interest in developing others.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain material tracking and data collection systems
Coordinate with a broad range of stakeholders, including R&D engineers and technicians, to deliver scalable and actionable software solutions
Assist in database optimization and application troubleshooting, document workflows, and improve visibility of data and software issues among internal teams
Assist in web service and backend development
Follow development best practices for software engineering, infrastructure, and real-time data processing, sourcing and implementing solutions as needed
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with 3+ years of experience
Strong communication and software design skills
Working experience in cloud computing platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
Working experience with Python, Javascript and SQL, as well as other frontend technologies
Demonstrated ability to work independently under limited supervision and as a team member in a collaborative environment

Manufacturing and Engineering Departments Physical Requirements:

-This position will often: Sit, stand for long periods, walk, grasp, reach with hands and arms, lift below and above shoulders, bend, twist at the waist, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, talk, hear, see, use fine finger manipulation, and complete repetitive motions.
-Some tasks may require the use of ladders or stairs
-Some tasks may require driving or the use of foot controls
-Lift/carry and push/pull up to 50 pound
