What you will do:
Key Technical Requirements: Preparative Purification Expert (Small Molecules & ADC Drug-Linkers)
- We are seeking an experienced purification scientist with deep expertise in preparative chromatography, isolation sciences, and scalable purification process development for complex small molecules, drug-linkers, and related intermediates.
Core Technical Competencies
Preparative Chromatography
- Extensive experience in preparative HPLC method development and scale-up.
- Strong expertise in reverse-phase and normal-phase chromatography.
- Experience with column screening, loading optimization, gradient development, recovery improvement, and productivity enhancement.
Complex Molecule Purification
- Proven experience purifying highly functionalized small molecules, ADC drug-linkers, payloads, and complex intermediates.
- Ability to develop purification strategies for compounds with challenging impurity profiles.
- Experience separating closely related impurities, regioisomers, diastereomers, and residual starting materials or by-products.
Process Development & Scale-Up
- Demonstrated experience transferring purification processes from laboratory scale to pilot and GMP manufacturing scale.
- Understanding of process robustness, manufacturability, productivity, solvent consumption, and cost considerations.
- Ability to design purification strategies suitable for multi-gram to kilogram-scale production.
Preferred Experience
- ADC drug-linker development and manufacturing.
- Cytotoxic payload or highly potent compound purification.
- GMP manufacturing support and technology transfer.
- Collaboration with Process Chemistry, Analytical Development, and Manufacturing teams.
- Experience serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in purification and isolation sciences.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- An experienced purification SME who can design and implement scalable purification strategies for complex small molecules and ADC drug-linkers, balancing purity, yield, productivity, cost, and manufacturability, while supporting projects from early development through GMP manufacturing.
Qualification:
- A Master’s degree with at least 7 years of industry experience, or a PhD with at least 2 years of industry experience, in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong expertise in preparative HPLC development, process optimization, troubleshooting, and scale-up, including both reverse-phase and normal-phase chromatography.
- A successful track record of designing and implementing scalable purification solutions for complex small molecules, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and manufacturability.
- Excellent English communication skills, enabling collaboration in a global environment and effective authoring of technical documentation.
It would be a plus if you have:
- Experience with ADC linkers, payloads, highly potent compounds, or other challenging small molecule modalities.
- Experience in downstream process development and scale-up in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to GMP manufacturing, technology transfer, or kilogram-scale process development.
- Experience serving as a technical expert and collaborating across Process Chemistry, Analytical Development, and Manufacturing functions.
