Job Title:
Senior Scientist, Analytical R&DJob Description:
The Role
Entegris is seeking a Senior Analytical Scientist to join our Analytical R&D team at our Ansan Korea Technology Center (KTC) facility.
In this role, you will lead the development, validation, and continuous improvement of analytical methods used to characterize complex materials, mixtures, and formulations. You will apply advanced analytical chemistry, metrology, and statistical techniques to support new product development, improve existing products, resolve challenging technical problems, and respond to internal and external customer needs. You will work closely with global R&D, engineering, manufacturing, quality, sales, marketing, and external laboratory partners.
What You’ll Do
Support the development, optimization, validation, and transfer of analytical methods for complex analyses.
Design and execute analytical experiments, interpret data, draw technically sound conclusions, and communicate results through reports, presentations, and discussions with technical teams and customers.
Establish and document method performance characteristics, including detection limits, accuracy, precision, stability, robustness, and measurement-system capability.
Collaborate with product-development teams to define analytical requirements for new materials, formulations, and products.
Evaluate, qualify, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation such as ICP-MS, ICP-OES, ion chromatography, HPLC, and FTIR.
Support analytical method change-impact assessments and contribute to cross-functional safety, readiness, and change-control reviews.
Prepare and maintain SOPs, work instructions, technical reports, method validation documentation, measurement-system analyses, and verification or qualification records.
Provide technical guidance and training to laboratory colleagues on analytical instrumentation, methods, data interpretation, documentation, and safe laboratory practices.
Support global analytical-development programs and collaborate effectively with R&D teams, manufacturing engineers, quality partners, and external laboratories.
Promote a strong safety culture and maintain audit-ready laboratory practices while handling chemicals and performing work in laboratory and cleanroom environments.
What We Seek
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related scientific discipline.
At least three years of relevant experience in an analytical, R&D, product-development, or comparable laboratory environment.
Demonstrated experience developing, validating, or improving analytical methods for complex materials, mixtures, formulations, or high-purity products.
Working knowledge of one or more relevant analytical techniques, such as ICP-MS, ICP-OES, ion chromatography, HPLC, or FTIR.
Ability to design experiments, analyze technical data, evaluate method performance, and translate findings into clear conclusions and recommendations.
Understanding of measurement-system analysis, method capability, statistical analysis, root-cause investigation, and corrective-action principles.
Experience preparing controlled technical documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, validation protocols, qualification records, and reports.
Ability to work safely with hazardous materials and follow applicable laboratory, cleanroom, chemical-handling, and personal-protective-equipment requirements.
Strong project-management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with the flexibility to manage multiple assignments and respond to changing business needs.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, including professional proficiency in English.
Ability to collaborate across functions, cultures, languages, and geographic locations.
Ability and willingness to travel approximately 10% to 20%, including international travel.
Outstanding Candidates Will Have
Hands-on expertise with trace-metals analysis, high-purity chemical analysis, or analytical characterization of complex formulations.
Experience qualifying new analytical instrumentation or transferring analytical methods between laboratories or global sites.
Knowledge of semiconductor materials, specialty chemicals, high-purity manufacturing, or contamination-control requirements.
Experience supporting new-product introduction and working directly with manufacturing, quality, commercial teams, external laboratories, or customers.
Professional proficiency in Korean and English.
