The company offers the opportunity to those who wish to express interest in the position of “Senior Resource Development Geologist| Ανώτερος Γεωλόγος Εκτίμησης και Ανάπτυξης Αποθεμάτων”, for its premises in Chalkidiki. The position will be reported to the Chief Geologist of the Technical Services department in Skouries.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct geological research and analysis to identify and assess mineral resource potential.
- Monitor and report on current and potential mineral resources to optimize production schedules and budgeting
- Conduct research and analysis to identify new opportunities for mineral exploration and extraction
- Develop geological models and update resource estimates based on exploration results.
- Develop geological resource evaluations of exploration and operational projects
- Evaluate potential risks and opportunities related to mineral resource extraction.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and promote sustainable mining practices.
- Supervise and mentor junior geologists in their day-to-day responsibilities.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to optimize extraction methods, identify potential risks, and provide recommendations for resource development strategies.
- Responsible for accurate Geological Data collection, analysis, and interpretation of exploration and operational projects
- Prepare and review geological models for mineral grade control model’s estimation.
- Conduct mineral grade control model’s estimation aligned with Company’s policy on estimation and reporting guidance.
- Reconcile mineral resource and ore reserve models against production performance.
- Provide geology and mineral resource contributions for project evaluation studies.
- Assist mine planning with development and optimization of grade estimation parameters and resource optimization processes.
- Contribute to the preparation of life of mine plans.
- Prepare geological reviews and reports.
- Develop and continuously improve internal mine geology systems, standards, guidelines and procedures.
- Working closely with the technical and operational teams for best-in-class ore control activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the team by constructively identifying opportunities and testing solutions.
- Manage opportunities, studies and projects for NI, JORC (or similar) compliant Mineral Resource statement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology.
- MSc in related discipline is an advance.
- At least 5 years of working experience in a leadership role in the mining environment with a practical understanding of technical, operating and management processes.
- Proven experience as a Mine Resource and Research Development Geologist in the mining industry.
- Experience in Geostatistics, with strong knowledge of geological modeling software and data analysis tools.
- Experience in the conducting of extensive QA/QC monitoring to ensure data and interpretations are accurate with the use of appropriate tools e.g. Acquire.
- Good understanding of the JORC/ NI 43101/ SAMREC reporting codes.
- Deep understanding of geology, mineralogy, and mining techniques.
- Proficiency in Geological Modelling software (Leapfrog Geo etc.).
- Proficiency in Resource Estimation software (Leapfrog Edge, Datamine etc.) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Good knowledge in OP and UG underground mine planning software (Deswik, Datamine etc.).
- Knowledge of database management and QA/QC practices.
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills including an ability to manage competing priorities to meet agreed deadlines.
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Driving License.
