Job Description:
Position Purpose:
The Senior Research Assistant (Clinical) role is to support and carry out research activities for the Survey, Qualitative and Applied Data (SQuAD) Research Core as assigned. In accordance with the project goals, and under the direction of the SQuAD leadership team, this position will support the day-to-day execution of a range of project-related tasks, including interactions with the research team, study participants, suppliers, stakeholders, and other members of community or Brown University.
Research activities may include managing the study recruitment/enrollment, data collection, participant compensation, coordinating specimen collection and bio-inventories, and compiling and entering data into project databases.
Other job responsibilities may include participant tracking and management, project documentation, administrative support, programing surveys, creating reports, and supporting manuscript activities as needed. The ideal candidate will be flexible, service-oriented, resourceful, and have strong communication skills and research-related experience.
May occasionally require travel to various research sites, including being available to work nights and weekends as needed.
This is an onsite position at the Brown University School of Public Health, 5 days a week.

This is a fixed-term position with a current end date of 10/31/2027, which may be extended based upon available funding.
Job Qualifications and Competencies:
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred:
- Public health research experience
- Experience with recruitment of hard-to-reach populations and experience conducting interviews
- Experience and familiarity with grant funding and IRB procedures
- Experience with diverse professional staff, including staff development and motivation
- Experience with bio-samples, including processing and inventory
Job Competencies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work effectively on multiple projects at the same time, including setting priorities and meeting deadlines
- Efficient time management skills
- Knowledge of research study design, recruitment issues, and retention
- Proven ability to work independently and in team collaboration environment
- Flexible schedule – prepared to work nights and weekends, as needed
- Possesses reliable transportation and the flexibility to travel independently between various research sites
- to meet standard attendance and scheduling expectations.
- Strong software and web proficiency required (i.e. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat Pro, Qualtrics, etc.), with willingness to learn and utilize new software applications as needed.
