About the Role

We're looking for a Senior Technical Recruiter (contract) to own end-to-end hiring across engineering, product, research, operations, go-to-market, and corporate functions during a critical growth phase. You'll partner closely with hiring managers and leadership, bringing a consultative and proactive approach to every search. This is a 3-month engagement where your work will directly shape the talent that defines Niantic Spatial's next chapter.

What You'll Do

• Full-Cycle Recruiting — Own end-to-end recruiting for technical and non-technical roles, from intake and kickoff through offer acceptance and close.

• Hiring Strategy — Partner with hiring managers and leaders to define role requirements, candidate profiles, interview processes, and sourcing strategies tailored to each search.

• Sourcing & Pipeline — Build and execute proactive sourcing plans — direct outreach, referrals, networking, and recruiting platforms — to reach high-caliber candidates across software engineering, machine learning, AI research, product, sales, marketing, operations, finance, and people functions.

• Candidate Assessment — Run structured recruiter screens that evaluate qualifications, motivations, and alignment with our culture and values; maintain a consistently high hiring bar across all functions.

• Process & Experience — Drive an efficient interview process and a positive, responsive candidate experience from first contact through onboarding.

• Market Advisory — Advise hiring managers on market trends, compensation benchmarks, and hiring best practices, translating data and insight into clear hiring decisions.

• Offer Management — Manage offers, negotiations, and close, keeping candidate records and recruiting metrics current in our ATS (Ashby).

• Recruiting Operations — Champion fair and inclusive hiring practices, and identify opportunities to improve workflows, process efficiency, and employer brand across the recruiting function.

What You'll Bring

• 7+ years of full-lifecycle recruiting experience across both technical and non-technical roles.

• A strong track record in high-growth startups, technology companies, or venture-backed organizations.

• Proven success hiring software engineers, machine learning engineers, AI researchers, product managers, and business professionals.

• Strong sourcing skills using LinkedIn Recruiter, referrals, networking, and other talent channels.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent requisitions without compromising candidate experience or quality.

• Excellent stakeholder management and consultative communication — you influence hiring decisions with data and market insight.

• Strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal direction.

Nice to Have

• Recruiting experience in AI, machine learning, geospatial, robotics, spatial computing, or related emerging-tech sectors.

• Experience building recruiting processes from the ground up in early-stage or scaling startup environments.

• Experience hiring globally or supporting geographically distributed teams.

• Familiarity with Ashby or similar modern applicant tracking systems.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected hourly rate for this contract engagement is $85–$110/hour, commensurate with experience and expertise.

Location & Work Model

This role is based in our San Francisco, CA office on a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in office. This is a 3-month contract engagement.
