About the role: What's in the Box

The Consumer Alliance drives customer acquisition, conversion optimization, and retention strategies across all HelloFresh and Ready-to-Eat (RTE) brands globally. The alliance is responsible for cross-cutting initiatives that maximize business value through modernized architecture. By leveraging rigorous experimentation, data-driven insights, and continuous modernization, we ensure a frictionless, highly optimized experience that improves order rates and sustains long-term growth across all regions.

Within the alliance, the Order & Subscription tribe owns everything that happens once a customer commits: how orders are built, scheduled, modified, and delivered, week after week, at scale. The Deliveries squad is looking for a Senior React Native Engineer with iOS knowledge to build and evolve the delivery planning, tracking, scheduling experiences across our mobile & web apps. This is where an expected order becomes a doorstep experience: every change you ship is measured directly in delivery accuracy & customer trust, across all HelloFresh Group's brands and markets, for millions of customers every week, globally.

What you’ll do: The Recipe

At HelloFresh we are moving away from a model where software developers just execute tickets toward one where product engineers are trusted to own customer problems. A Product Engineer takes a problem, forms a point of view, validates it with customers and data, and ships it using AI as a force multiplier. 

• Build and improve the delivery and orderflows in our React Native apps, from problem definition through to production and measurement
• Run experiments on high-traffic, revenue-critical surfaces, and use the results to decide what ships next
• Collaborate with engineers across the department and the company to continuously improve the code base, systems, and processes
• Design and develop solutions that can continue to scale
• Support other team members through workshops, pair programming, and code reviews
• Work beyond your specialization when the problem demands it. Your specialization is your anchor, not your boundary.
• Operate what you build. You instrument, monitor, and improve your systems in production. Shipping is the beginning of the learning cycle, not the end.
• Contribute to the app experience, owning the metrics that reflect quality for customers (delivery accuracy, crash-free sessions, performance).

What you’ll bring: The Ingredients 

• Hands-on experience working with AI tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) beyond casual experimentation. You use AI agents every day. You have a practical sense of how the context you provide to AI tools shapes output quality, and how to set boundaries on AI-generated work.
• At least 2-3 years of hands-on work with React Native
• A minimum of 5 years of experience working with Mobile or Web technologies
• Nice to have: a working knowledge of native iOS development (Swift/Objective-C, Xcode, CocoaPods/SPM) sufficient to debug, extend, or write native modules and bridges when React Native isn't enough
• Proficiency in building component-based architectures
• Understanding of integrating frontend and backend services seamlessly
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows, along with solid testing practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Strong collaboration skills when partnering with engineers and other functional roles, like product management and UX designer.
• You take full ownership. You have a bias to ship. You finish the last twenty percent. 
• You have product sense and are opinionated about what should be built and why, and you can back that opinion with data and user evidence.
• Strong mobile engineering expertise, with experience across the app release cycle, test automation, on-device performance and platform UX conventions.
