Your Role
As a Senior Order to Cash (OTC) Operations Manager at Zip, you will own and scale the end-to-end OTC function for recurring subscriptions and consumption revenue models. You will lead cross-functional initiatives and work directly with senior leadership to drive operational transformation, optimize cash flow, and build OTC system architecture for Zip’s future growth. This is a hands-on, senior individual contributor role with broad exposure across Finance, Sales, Deal Desk, Product, and Engineering. The ideal candidate is an experienced operator and strong day-to-day executor who would rather build than maintain, and who is comfortable designing and deploying automation and AI tools to support Zip’s revenue growth.
What You’ll Do
Own the order to cash lifecycle end to end, from order creation through invoicing, collections, and cash application, ensuring accuracy, timely delivery, and adherence to contractual terms.
Drive customer collections: oversee dunning processes, monitor AR aging, and conduct direct outreach to customers with past-due accounts, working with Sales and Customer Success to resolve disputes and escalations.
Lead new billing and revenue system implementations, driving accounting requirements and keeping cross-functional stakeholders aligned on scope and timing.
Identify and deploy automation and AI-based workflows across invoicing and collections to reduce process cycle times.
Collaborate with GTM, Deal Desk, and Product on new SKU launches and validate that billing and accounting systems are ready before the launch date.
Manage the month-end close for bookings and billings, working in lockstep with Deal Strategy and Operations teams to ensure seamless handoff to Revenue Accounting.
Partner with Engineering and Product to ensure usage data is captured and reported into our billing systems accurately.
Proactively monitor and implement strategies to maintain strong collections, optimize cash flow and minimize bad debt exposure.
Serve as the primary point of contact for AR and billing external audit matters.
Develop documentation, playbooks, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the order-to-cash function.
What You’ll Bring
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. CPA is a plus.
8+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, revenue accounting, or order-to-cash, including time at a high-growth technology company.
Experience managing hybrid revenue models (recurring subscription + consumption).
Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for reconciliation and data analysis.
Familiarity using Snowflake queries for data retrieval and analysis; SQL proficiency is a plus.
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a track record of partnering effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and application to billing.
Experience building AI-driven workflows involving multiple data sources and/or multiple system integration points.
Comfortable performing detailed, hands-on operational work while owning strategic initiatives.
Track record of building or overhauling finance processes and systems, with sound judgment on what to build now and what to defer.
Familiarity with NetSuite, Salesforce, and modern billing and collections tooling.
The salary range for this role is $145,000 - $210,000. The salary for this position is determined based on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant experience, education, or particular skills and expertise.
