À propos de ce poste Senior Marketing & Business Development Manager (Workers Compensation) chez Paragon Insurance Holdings

Paragon Insurance Holdings · Sur site · Avon, CT

Why Paragon? In 2014, Paragon was incepted in a Starbucks coffee shop with a simple strategy — build the MGA that we would want to work for. Years later, Paragon is one of the fastest growing MGAs in the country. Our secret? A dedication to diversity and agility. We realized from the start that a commitment to thinking, acting, and rewarding “different” would resonate within the industry. It is hard to argue with results, and the results are clear. Our diverse team of talent is reshaping an industry that has weathered “boring” and is long overdue on “different.” Whether it comes by offering better pay, benefits or growth opportunities, we will continue to aggressively invest in talent to drive our business forward. Change is here, come be a part of it with us.

Formed as a broadly diversified MGA, Paragon supports retail agents and insurance carriers, and reinsurers with our strong underwriting talent, broad capabilities, sophisticated operations, and varied business interests. Our goal: To help our partners do business better. And we do.

The Senior Marketing & Business Development Manager may work remotely, with a strong preference for candidates based in the East or Southeast, ideally Atlanta, New Jersey, Connecticut, Nashville, or Charlotte. Given the travel requirements of the role, candidates must be located near a major airport.

The Senior Marketing & Business Development Manager is responsible for driving profitable new business growth for the Paragon Work Comp Division through the development, management, and expansion of retail broker and agency relationships throughout the East Coast and broader U.S. market.

This role serves as a key business development partner to Paragon’s underwriting and leadership teams, identifying target agencies, developing producer relationships, generating qualified submission opportunities, and helping position Paragon’s workers’ compensation capabilities within the marketplace.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, resourceful, and commercially minded professional who can independently develop a territory, establish credibility with retail brokers, identify opportunities aligned with Paragon’s underwriting appetite, and manage prospects from initial contact through submission and placement.

This position requires a strong understanding of the insurance distribution model, retail agency relationships, workers’ compensation, and the process of sourcing, qualifying, submitting, and ultimately winning new business.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive new business growth for Paragon’s Workers’ Compensation division across the East Coast and targeted national markets.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with retail agencies, brokers, producers, and agency leadership whose business aligns with Paragon’s underwriting appetite.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline of qualified prospects and opportunities, from initial outreach and producer appointment through submission, quoting, and placement.
  • Serve as a trusted resource to brokers by understanding their business, communicating Paragon’s capabilities and appetite, and helping develop high-quality submissions.
  • Identify target markets, agencies, classes of business, and emerging opportunities that support profitable growth.
  • Develop and execute targeted marketing and outreach strategies, including broker communications, campaigns, presentations, and industry networking.
  • Partner closely with underwriting and internal teams to evaluate opportunities, communicate market intelligence, and ensure submissions are properly positioned.
  • Maintain accurate and actionable agency, producer, and pipeline information to prioritize opportunities and measure business development activity.
  • Represent Paragon professionally in the marketplace while strengthening the company’s brand, broker relationships, and competitive position.
  • Take ownership of business development initiatives from strategy through execution, using market feedback and results to continuously improve growth strategies and the broker experience.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in insurance, business development, marketing, brokerage, underwriting, or a related role; workers’ compensation experience strongly preferred.
  • Established relationships within the retail insurance agency and brokerage community, particularly in the East Coast/Northeast market.
  • Proven ability to develop new relationships, generate qualified opportunities, and manage a business development pipeline.
  • Strong understanding of P&C insurance distribution, retail brokerage, wholesale/MGA relationships, and workers’ compensation.
  • Ability to evaluate opportunities against underwriting appetite and identify profitable growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and accountable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a remote environment.
  • Strong business judgment, initiative, and ability to take opportunities from prospecting through submission and follow-up.
  • Professional, customer-focused approach with the ability to build trusted relationships with brokers, producers, underwriters, and internal stakeholders.

The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded. Jencap also offers a range of benefits and programs, based on eligibility, which currently include but are not limited to; comprehensive health care coverage, a 401k plan, and tuition reimbursement.  Jencap is an emerging and rapidly growing leader in the industry and as such, we approach talent acquisition as an opportunity to identify the best talent. Therefore, the level of the role and compensation may vary depending upon the best available candidate.
