The Role

Our Strategic Finance team improves financial and operational decision-making across Square. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Finance for Sales, Account Management and International this role will support our Internal Sales functions, which guide our largest sellers' journeys onto Square.

You Will

• Serve as a strategic advisor and finance partner to Sales leadership, providing data-driven insights and guidance to inform high-impact business decisions.
• Own and evolve financial operating models that deliver deep visibility into go-to-market (GTM) investments, team productivity, and ROI, enabling smarter resourcing and investment choices.
• Drive GTM efficiency and scalability by partnering with cross-functional leaders to identify emerging trends, key performance indicators, and actionable levers for growth.
• Lead high-impact, ad-hoc strategic analyses that support rapid decision-making and unlock value across all growth functions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Business Intelligence, Marketing, and other teams to assess the financial implications of key initiatives and ensure alignment with company-wide goals.
• Steward operating expense planning and budget processes, ensuring resources are strategically allocated to support Square's long-term priorities and GTM success.

You Have

• 8+ years in strategic or corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, or management consulting; GTM experience is a plus.
• Experience serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, using financial analysis and strategic judgment to inform investment decisions and business strategy.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders through crisp storytelling and data-driven recommendations.
• Track record of operating autonomously: defining problems, structuring analyses, and driving to outcomes without clear precedent or a defined playbook.
• Experience leading projects with multiple cross-functional partners in fast-paced environments.
• Mastery of Excel / Google Sheets and comfort with SQL and modern AI-assisted analytics tools.
