OVERVIEW:

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking a strategic and operationally focused leader to drive the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of store readiness processes across new, relocated, and remodeled locations. The Senior Manager of New Store Readiness & Process Optimization plays a critical part in translating store design and experiential retail strategies into practical, scalable execution across all banners. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams including Store Planning, Construction, Store Operations, Visual Merchandising, and Inventory Planning to ensure stores open on time, on budget, and fully prepared for success.

The ideal candidate is a strong collaborator and problem solver who can build scalable processes, lead change management initiatives, and translate complex business strategies into actionable execution plans. They will leverage data and analytics to identify opportunities, improve operational performance, and influence decision-making, while driving accountability and alignment across multiple stakeholders. This position plays a key role in enhancing the store opening experience and supporting the company’s growth strategy through process excellence and continuous improvement.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Process Design & Optimization

• Design, document, and continuously improve store readiness processes for new, relocated, and remodeled locations.
• Build scalable, repeatable frameworks that ensure consistent execution across all banners and store formats.
• Identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements that reduce cycle time, lower costs, and elevate the store opening experience.
• Drive complex cross-functional problem-solving efforts across multiple stakeholders to impact store readiness outcomes.
• Lead cross-functionally to translate enterprise strategy into clear, actionable implementation plans that deliver on-time stores and fully prepared store teams.

Cross-Functional Partnership & Collaboration

• Serve as a primary point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders including Store Planning, Space, Store Operations, Construction, PAR (New Store Inventory), and Visual Merchandising to align on store readiness milestones and deliverables.
• Attend meetings with CSC partners to gain a thorough understanding of strategies and initiatives to be shared with the NSG&R team.
• Lead process guidance and support efforts to ensure consistent implementation across all new store initiatives.
• Act as the primary facilitator for cross-functional alignment meetings to keep workstreams on track.
• Develop and deliver Executive-level presentations to support NSG&R messaging and education across the broader enterprise.

Adoption & Sustainment

• Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of new and updated store readiness processes across the organization.
• Develop playbooks and tools that support consistent process execution by field and cross-functional teams.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement and operational discipline across all store readiness activities.
• Co-lead with Senior NSPMs to elevate single-project obstacles and drive accountability across NSPMs

Analytics & Insights

• Leverage financial and operational data to evaluate process performance, identify gaps, and inform decision-making.
• Translate data and analytics into clear, actionable insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
• Track, communicate, and drive continuous improvement of KPIs related to on-time store openings, process compliance, and cost efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 7 - 10 years of experience in Process Improvement, Project Management, Retail Operations
• PMP, Lean Six Sigma or Change Management Certifications a plus
• Experience utilizing and working with Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced PowerPoint presentation skills) and Process Mapping Software
• Problem solving & troubleshooting capabilities
• Experience with Process Mapping & Documentation
• Strong Business acumen and superior organizational abilities
• Project management knowledge while being process & procedure oriented
• Strong presentation and excellent written & verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal & client consultation skills
• Experience utilizing Operational Excellence Metrics
• Executive Reporting experience
• Ability to Influence without authority
