The Opportunity
This position works out of our Columbus, OH in the Nutrition Division. The Senior Logistics Planner manages production planning for their assigned product(s). Position will be responsible for translating commercial demand and inventory strategies/targets into effective supply plans. Production Planner will manage production plans that span multiple plants. Incumbent will be required to coordinate with Demand Planning, Operations and other planners to resolve plant scheduling conflicts and capacity constraints. The Production Planner is primarily focused on the next 24 months horizon. Incumbent is expected to work independently, with minimal supervision. The Production Planner translates external environment conditions and demands from Demand Planners into comprehensive manufacturing plans under MRP philosophy. Simplistically: converting and communicating a changing condition to a planned environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Maintain internal and external customer service levels for all assigned products.
- Manage plant throughput within customer service, capacity, efficiency, and inventory plan framework.
- Coordinate with GIO Program and Project management groups, project activity and schedule of new products, new processes, etc.
- Identify, resolve and communicate low/or excess obsolete stock position on all assigned SKUs.
- Develop production plans for Plan, Update, and monthly LBE packages.
- Maintain integrity of forecast passes, finished goods inventory planning, APO inventory planning, master scheduling and capacity requirements planning data for all ANPD and AI products sourced from the U.S. for all ssigned products.
- Identify and direct the planning activities associated with the allocation of finished goods in current or projected low stock position for all assigned products.
- Participate in decision-making meetings on plant manpower loading and/or premium labor (overtime-contract labor).
- Manage and direct inventory investment activities for all assigned products.
- Work directly with plants to perform Rough Cut Capacity Planning in support of 24-month planning horizon.
- Present at monthly meetings with plant and division operations to review and implement operations strategies.
- Hold Leadership roles within department related to training and system support.
- Provide ad-hoc analytical reports and scenario plans to support Commercial and Supply Chain strategies.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree: Business, Management, Science or Engineering disciplines preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain related roles
- Advanced MS office, in particular Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, preferred
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work in a team environment.
- Must be flexible, organized, detail oriented and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally, with customer driven focus and sense of urgency.
- Analytical thinking and proactive problems solving skills.
- Strong ability to perceive and analyze problems and to develop and implement solutions.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to write and express ideas clearly; plan and prioritize work
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Self-starter
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree Preferred: Business Administration or Industrial Management disciplines a plus
- APICS certification - desired but not required

The base pay for this position is
$78,000.00 – $156,000.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
