Role Purpose

We are seeking a commercially minded, hands-on FP&A Analyst to support and strengthen budget planning, forecasting and performance insight across the business. The role will partner closely with budget holders and Finance colleagues to provide clear challenge, actionable analysis and decision support.

This is a high-impact role for a qualified accountant who combines robust financial control with an ability to translate operational drivers into a forward-looking view of performance. The successful candidate will bring experience from Financial Services, Fintech or Banking and will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the annual budget and monthly forecasting, ensuring plans are robust and aligned with business priorities.
• Support monthly, half-yearly, annual performance reporting and the preparation of monthly Board-level Finance governance packs, ensuring actual-versus-budget and actual-versus-forecast analysis is accurate, timely and clearly communicated, with concise insight into key drivers, risks and opportunities.
• Support and partner with departmental leaders and budget holders to improve financial accountability, challenge assumptions and support informed decisions.
• Support and partner across the Commercial team including Business Partners and Head of FP&A on ad-hoc requests and commercial activities.
• Build and maintain high-quality financial models, scenarios and sensitivities to support business cases, investment decisions, transformation initiatives and optimisation opportunities.
• Support a forward-looking view of trends, including headcount, vendors, technology, professional services and other operating expenditure, escalating material risks early.
• Improve FP&A processes, reporting and planning tools to increase efficiency, data quality and self-service insight for stakeholders.
• Contribute to Finance-wide projects and provide ad hoc analysis for senior leaders as business needs evolve.

Measures of Success

1. Forecast Accuracy Support – Monthly forecasts and budget variance analysis are delivered accurately, robustly and within agreed departmental timelines.
2. Board Reporting – Monthly Board-level Finance governance packs are prepared on time, with clear, accurate actual-vs-budget and actual-vs-forecast commentary and insight into key drivers, risks and opportunities.
3. Business Partnering – Budget holders and departmental leaders report improved financial accountability and decision support through constructive, credible challenge and analysis.
4. Financial Modelling – High-quality, error-free financial models, scenarios and sensitivities are delivered on time to support business cases, investment decisions and transformation initiatives.
5. Process Improvement – Identify and help implement improvements to FP&A processes, reporting and planning tools that increase efficiency, data quality and self-service insight for stakeholders.

Key Skills, experience and Competencies

• At least 2 years' post-qualified experience, or 3+ years' experience in FP&A, corporate finance or a related analytical finance role; candidates making their first move from financial control into FP&A will also be considered.
• Relevant FP&A, commercial finance or business-partnering experience within Financial Services, Fintech or Banking.
• Good experience of budgeting, forecasting, month-end variance analysis, performance reporting, and preparing or assessing business cases.
• Demonstrable financial modelling capability, with good Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience working with complex and large data sets, including scenario analysis and translating data into clear recommendations.
• Commercially minded, with the ability to balance attention to detail with big-picture thinking.
• Strong stakeholder-management skills and confidence engaging senior, non-finance audiences.
• A sound understanding of the operating rhythms, controls and commercial drivers within regulated financial-services environments.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled finance tools, such as Claude and ChatGPT, and the ability to apply them thoughtfully to improve workflow automation, analysis, reporting and planning processes is desirable.
• Confident and constructive business partner who can influence stakeholders and challenge with credibility.
• Naturally curious, detail-oriented and proactive in identifying issues before they become risks.
• Clear communicator who can present financial insight to both finance and non-finance audiences.
• Comfortable managing competing priorities and delivering high-quality work to tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• Essential: A professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), supported by a strong academic background.

Working Arrangements

The role is based in London and operates on a hybrid working model. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with the Finance team and business stakeholders, with office attendance aligned to team and business needs.
